One of my favorite camping spots in Big Sur! Michael, Punky and Bubba the dog are welcoming are delightful camp hosts that made our visit all the more enjoyable. Their knowledge of the area is incredible. We will definitely be back.

Loved camping there. We havent been there in a long time. The trail down to Sand Dollar Beach was inaccessible but the campground was nice. Many trees still down that havent been cut up and hauled away. The sinks dont have water. Even with these problems it was still a beautiful place to camp.

Molly the camp host is always friendly and helpful every time we are at Plaskett Creek. Too bad she is moving on to Oregon in May. Restrooms were clean like always. The only real problem that I have observed in the campground is the tree branches hanging down low in several sites. A 50 foot space is going to have trailers and motorhomes backing into them. But some branches are only 8 feet off the ground. The FOREST SERVICE NEEDS TO ADRESS THIS BIG PROBLEM. Luckily my trailer was not damaged this time, even though branches hung up on my rooftop AC unit. Central Big Sur is a great area.

We were told from another state camp site ( Limkelm) that there was E-Coli in the water. As a healthcare provider I was very concerned , when I saw campers washings their dishes, etc. in water with E-Coli. This campground should of been shut down.

Campground is tidy and well managed onsite. First come first served sites are too few and should be increased, perhaps by expanding the campground.

The campground itself is in a nice location. The town of Gorda is about three miles south. Lucia Lodge is about ten minutes north. I's close to the highway, but it's quiet at night. The camp host, Adeline, was extremely helpful. Families would do well in the center camp sites, but if you like peace and quiet, you may want to opt for a perimeter site. The beach is an easy walk, but there are stairs down to the sand, so be aware of that. Also have a tick check when you get back. We went in July and came back with four ticks from one short walk. Ugh! If you can't get a reservation, check back frequently for cancellations, although you may have to move camp several times on consecutive days. Beware, there is no water at the sinks in the restrooms. However, there is plenty of water around the campground from spigots.

Beautiful campground, nice big grass area for the kids to play. Sand dollar beach is a short walk across the street and has amazing tide pools. Note that the weather is still cold and foggy in early summer (when we were there). For some reason the sinks in the bathroom were shut off. Otherwise a great experience at a great campground.
