The new camp hosts, Tina and her husband, are so wonderful. They're considerate and kind, and they keep the campground in wonderful shape!

Punkie and Michael are the best.

I'm slightly baffled why these spots are booked up months and months in advance. There was nothing particularly special about it, and more concerning, the trail down to the beach was completely grown over with poison oak and ticks. We turned around halfway down and never made it to the shore. Sadly, no hiking was possible with the undermaintained trails.Raccoons could be heard through the entire night, they knocked the metal trashcan over, which was pretty jarring. All in all, not quite a peaceful getaway and the view of the ocean wasn't exactly open (Again, a small trail with poison oak surrounding it was the only option).

Hard to beat in terms of beauty and serenity. Poison oak is present, but with reasonable caution, not a problem. Short, easy hike to a beautiful rocky beach from the campsite itself. Hosts were very helpful.

Best run, most peaceful Forest Sevice CG we have ever stayed at. Brent and Kiersten, the camp hosts were great. They take a lot of pride in their work.

Though Kirk Creek has been on my wishlist for a decade, I wondered if the hours added to the drive by the Hwy 1 detour would be worth it. And then some! Rewarded by a spectacular setting and views (awe-inspiring coastline, skyful o stars, lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf, intoxicated by the smell of wild fennel, and giddy over the abundance of bunnies), warm but unobtrusive community of fellow campers, welcoming and thoughtful hosts (like, looking out for a solo traveler by bringing warm food to your site because they want to make sure youve got plenty to eat level thoughtful. Such genuine heart and refreshing generosity of spirit! Brava!) who kept the sites and facilities tidy as can be despite being perpetually filled to capacity.

We had an incredible site but unfortunately, you can't pick your neighbors. Beware...

Best location. Many spots with ocean view. Walking trail to beach. Tide pole was beautiful. Very difficult to book.

Beautiful views of the water from campground. Middle of no where & no service.

Mar and Shua were the BEST!

Stunning scenery. There was a very bold raccoon that seemed far too comfortable walking through people's campsites in search of food.

Unbelievable view from the campground, you could be 20-30 feet away from a cliff with spectacular views of the ocean. The cliff in general has a fence and in most places a lot of foliage so it still feels safe. We had no issue with the toilets, the ones we saw were all in service and surprisingly clean on the inside. No running water though, so plan accordingly. The trail down to the beach was a quick nice hike down, there were a couple areas with plants encroaching on the trail but it wasn't bad. We were surprised during a weekday to see lots of unoccupied sites when online they had all showed up as being booked. We had a hungry raccoon almost jump in to our car, dig around in the camp communal trash, and found raccoon paw prints on our chairs in the morning (presumably licking up spills from our kids) - so definitely put things away before bedtime. Sand dollar beach is ~10 minutes down the road if you want a bigger beach for the kids and toys.

Gorgeous campground, well maintained. Just wish there was a running water and flushing toilets.

Best camping experience ever. Love the location, the people and the fact that you are surrounded by nature.
