This campsite is beautiful, with stunning views. Camping right in the coast, you must be aware of the winds and how unpredictable they can be. On a couple of nights the wind was gusty all day, right until sunset. Our site was #14 and we had a great view of the water out to Limekiln Beach. Will try to book #8 next time as it seemed to have completely unobstructed views. There is little to no flat ground at #14 and not much space for more than one tent. Other things about the Site, we surprisingly saw zero raccoons, may have to do with us being uber careful not to leave any trash or food out. In terms of trails, there were 2 easily accessible to the camp. Across the road is the scenic Vicente Flat Trail and the trail down to Kirk Creek and the rocky beach below starts right by Site #9. There is no running water so be prepared for that. The toilets werent in horrible shape though. I would highly recommend camping here and will be coming back in the future.

Trails were overgrown and not well up-kept. There was tons of poison oak on the trail and at the campsite, making it nearly impossible to hike. Also, if you do go, there is no cell service and no suggested hike or things to-do in the area, so come with a plan!

Your host couple is very helpful. They were patient and listened to my questions and they were very thoughtful and generous with their answer. I was traveling with two children and really appreciated their advise.

We had an excellent stay at the campground! Beautiful view of the ocean and the Vicente hiking trails mountain at the opposite end of the campground. Definitely the best campground Ive been to in the Big Sur region. Campground host was very pleasant accommodating, she also helped us extend our stay pretty efficiently due to some vacancies. Would recommend spot 17 for a closer view of the ocean! No phone service available. If you want phone service best signal I got (AT&T) was at Willow Creek beach.

I went to the site and saw that NO CAMPFIRES were allowed. It was FREEZING COLD FOG!! The website should have been crystal clear about this-I kept driving. I thought I should let the camp host know that they could give my site to someone, but when I tried to find someone, there was a sign that said do not disturb until 2:00pm. So not only did I pay for a site I didn’t use, I couldn’t ask to let someone else have it!!!! SO RIDICULOUS AND DISAPPOINTED! The last time I booked the Kirk Creek site my reservation was CANCELLED on me a week before due to rain predicted that never happened. The national forest needs better management the public deserves better….

Beautiful view and very helpful/friendly camp hosts. Please be mindful of the raccoons, they know how to open car doors and will get into any food you leave out.

We had site 14 and it was great! Beautiful view, grass, no bugs. The hike down to the beach area was beautiful.

Bathrooms were clean. The view from the campground is spectacular. Sleeping outside is definitely doable although some mornings have heavy dew. Lots of poison oak around the campground although the sites are very well rid of it. The hike down Kirk Creek to the ocean is especially nice right now (05/2021) since it appears that some land flow cleared out the creek bed so it is now hike-able for the first time since I have been coming here for 25 years.
