Outstanding as always. While the services (i.e., only composting toilets) are knowingly limited, the staff and scenery are reliably epic. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Host Jesse was awesome. He was kind enough to drive around the campsite to let anyone know that whales were present. Super awesome guy! Thanks Jesse!

Lovely time as always at Kirk Creek. Some of the fellow campers were playing music loudly over speakers during the daytime, but as much can be expected at such a popular spot and it calmed down after dark. Was more concerned about the smell of the outhouses that was intermittently wafting over into other campsites.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about it with a nice greeting from Michael-host. We had a great view and the sounds of the ocean were awesome ! Everything of the campground facilities was very well kept. Wish we could have stayed longer!

This was our first time at Kirk Creek. It was absolutely beautiful! Brent and Kearsten were AWESOME camp hosts. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked along with each campsite cleaned and ready for the next campers. They were so friendly and helpful, even delivered firewood to our campsite. We look forward to camping there again.

Absolutely amazing campground with very helpful and friendly camp hosts. The views are amazing! The pit toilets are probably the cleanest that I've ever experienced at a campground.

This is one of the most amazing campgrounds on the California coast. If you drive in from the north, be advised that there are lots of amenities to the south, and elephant seals can be found just north of San Simeon.

Fill up with gas, especially diesel. There is no diesel on the mountain and no cell service. It was the most stunning place we have camped. Beating out Holy Cross and Jenny Lake in Tetons.

This is hands down my new favorite camping spot. The sites are slightly tiered so everyone has a pretty great view of the ocean, and because it's a smaller campground and everyone was there to listen to the waves while sitting under the stars it was really quiet and respectful. There's no running water so plan ahead, but there is a really cute market just a few minutes away for any last minute needs. 10/10 highly recommend.

Most beautiful campground we have ever stayed at! Every site offers an incredible view. The raccoons are very aggressive. We had a reservation for one day and wanted to extend our stay. Trying to get a first come first serve site the temporary host was quite adamant not to speak with him until noon the following day. That being said we got probably the best site in the campground #22! No complaints!

One of the most beautiful campgrounds weve camped at! Steps away from the beach and a nice trail just on the other side of highway 1. The camp hosts were attentive and nice. Overall, great experience and hoping to get a campsite soon again!

I am very sad about this campground. It is in a beautiful spot and it is being trashed. I have been to many campsites in CA. They all have wildlife-proof garbage cans with hidden handles that you have to lift to open the lids. This one did not. It had hanging metal circular cans with circular lids. There were racoons everywhere. EVERYWHERE. When we pulled in the first night, I saw three in one garbage can and two in another. They had no problem taking off the lids. One of the toilets made the whole camp stink. It needed to be emptied. It seems like people are coming in with these tent-toilets and then dumping them in the camp toilets when they leave. This made for a very sloshy and stinky environment at the bottom of the pits, not how they are meant to be used at all. There is no excuse for not installing proper garbage cans and not emptying the toilets when you charge $80 a night for a spot here. It's embarrassing, get it together.

I loved the campground. The location is relatively remote and the views you get are amazing. Lots of poison ivy in the area, so you need to be careful. My only criticism (and the reason why my rating is not reflected) is that the camp hosts (a young husband and wife team) were not welcoming, available or present for their guests. We were there for almost one week and we never were greeted by the hosts and never checked in properly. We went to the hosts a few times to try and check in, even went there to ask them for assistance with a different matter, but they never assisted us. I understand we can all be busy at times but being there for as long as we were, there were plenty of opportunities to make a different impression. Our camp host experience was disappointing in such a beautifully set campground.

After an amazing drive south on the beautiful HWY 1, I could see the campgrounds rounding a corner and knew this was going to be awesome camping. The views did not disappoint, the sites were clean and easy to locate my site.

Love this campground! The sites have gorgeous views, they all (with maybe 2 or 3 exceptions) have plenty of room for 2+ tents, and you're not too far from some beaches and restaurants. Plus it's not quite as crowded as the section of Big Sur that's closer to the city. The hosts during our visit (Dec 2019) were so helpful and professional. Please keep in mind that the raccoons really are something else. When we visit we try to cook and clean up before dark if we can so that everything is safe and packed away before they explore. And keep an eye out for the poison oak.
