The wonderful, attentive, energetic camp host Zach was a highlight of the stay. The views of the ocean are of course, incredible

It's one of our favorite camps. The views and the permanent sound of the ocean are absolutely amazing. There are many beautiful beaches around and places to do picnicking. The camp is clean, and has motivated and sympathetic camp Hosts. Till next time again.

It was wonderful! Gorgeous views looking down over the cliff. Many of the sites have some views of the ocean. We hiked up the mountain behind us for a couple miles and had more stunning views. there wasnt any shade on the trail so it was very hot on our dogs feet. We turned around because her feet were burning. Not much to be done about that other than not walking midday. We enjoyed taking the little trail down to the rocky beach from the campground as well as driving a short distance to park and then enjoy the rocky beach and tide pools. We had no cell service anywhere near the campground. We probably wouldve had to drive back to Gorda to get some sort of cell service. We were able to send a few messages to family by connecting to satellite. Never done that before but its a nice option since we didnt know we would be out of cell service for our entire stay. Many of the sites are not level- especially the ones with the best views, so plan accordingly. Poison oak was rampant in the whole area. Every trail had it all over and many of the campsites. It was one of the main bushes. Its good for campers to know what it looks like, maybe have some sort of preparation in case you are sensitive to it. We chose to stay off a few trails because it was around so much and we did not want our dog touching it.

Absolutely gorgeous, small, quiet (road is still closed just north of here!) campground. Great little path down to the beach, great hike up to astounding views just across the street. Campsites are spacious and private.

Amazing. It was our first time here and we loved this campsite! We stayed in site 20 for 5 nights. It was spacious and had great views. The vault toilets were.vault toilets. Towards then end of our stay, the smell was getting a bit stronger. The toilet paper was well stocked. Our site had its own little trail directly to the toilets, which was nice. We had a good view of the water. Poison oak was plentiful. Apparently, ticks are too. We didnt have any issues with those; neither did our dogs. There was a trailhead right across the road. It was great for me and my 8 year old. The hosts were awesome. They would drive by and check in. The campers around us were respectful. To get supplies, youll need to drive into Paso Robles. Cambria is a little town thats closer. We didnt look for any supplies, but did gas up while there. Theres a trail between sites 9 and 11 that leads to the beach. Its only 1/3 of a mile to the beach - the very rocky beach. Theres a little patch of sand there. But to get to that, youll need to cross a bunch of rocks. As for critters, there are raccoons and mice. The raccoons are pretty quiet. When at other campsites, we can usually hear the raccoons at night. But not here. We saw the occasional mouse scampering through the low scrubs - and in the bed of our truck one night. Last thing to note is the condensation. So much condensation. As soon as the sun sets, anything thats outside becomes wet. We learned this the hard way after trying to air out some bedding the first day. Even though theres a good amount of grass, theres a lot of dirt patches. So, things can get pretty muddy.

This has become my favorite camping at this location. Perfect location to fully unplug with no cell reception, clean grounds, beach access and breath-taking views.

This is a beautiful place to camp, overlooking the pacific. I will go there again. Restrooms were cleaned daily. The only drawback is that the main path to the beach is completely overgrown with poison oak.

Beautiful campsite. It can be cool with the ocean breeze in the evenings - so plan for making fires (wood can be bought at the campsite). I can highly recommend the Vicente Flat trail to the Vicente flat camp (not that easy though 4-5 hrs to get there and back) but beautiful views and scenery and wildflowers in springtime. The trail to the beach from the campsite is short & nice and a beautiful place to go watch the sunset. Lots of poison oak so be aware of that.... The staff whom we met at the campsite were really nice!

We really loved this campground. It’s beautiful and peaceful. BUT when they say poison oak is abundant, they mean it. Our entire spot was surrounded with it, which would be fine if we didn’t have a 2 year old and a dog to keep out of it.

I had the camp site reserved for 2 days, even though I showed up on the first day, the camp site was given away on the 2nd day. Poorly managed by the campground host.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Youll be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean roaring. All the sites offer great views: the ones to the right side of camp (north) will offer slightly more privacy, and open views of the waves crashing. The ones on the left are situated on more of an open field, but have better views of the sunset.Things to be aware of: poison oak and raccoons are rampant. Bring your own water (at least 1.5 gallons per person/day). Lastly, get firewood before entering Big Sur. Prices are ridiculous. $15/bundle at camp, ~$10 + tax at the general store. Outside of those precautions, youre in for a real treat.
