It's the best campground on Earth, at least that I've been to so far. Michael was a great camp host, the path to the beach was a great adventure for the kids, and the drive to and from was an adventure in and of itself.

Kirk Creek is stunningly beautiful and very well managed by the new custodians, Katie and her husband. Katie went above and beyond to make us welcome after Google Maps had claimed the road to the campsite was closed leaving us aborting the first two nights of our trip. She found a beautiful spot for us and was so kind. She even rushed over to our site to let us know when her husband and her had spotted whales as they knew we were keen to see them. Really well kept, beautiful site in unrivalled position.

Beautiful pristine and clean location overlooking the ocean. Main issue were the lack of flush-type toilets and showers.

I would have rated it with five stars, but there was a family that allowed their black German Shepherd to run off leash. The dog charged my dog who was on leash, and my husband stepped in front of the black dog to avoid contact. The neighboring campers were complaining that the dog was allowed to poop within their site. Apparently this had been going on all day and we saw one person confront the owner. It would have been helpful if there as a campground host who could put that situation in check.

Iconic and most memorable of all my 40 years of camping.

It says that there is beach access, but the US Forrest Service has not maintained the trail. It is overgrown with poison oak to the point that it is impossible to get down to the beach. Other issues were the steepness of the campsite. It made it impossible to level even with three sets of leveling blocks, poison oak all around our campsite (we have 3 young kids with no concept and it was hard when a ball or toy ended up in the bushes), and the fact that they put the table and fireplace on the opposite side of where it should be for a camper in relationship to the parking. The camp hosts were very friendly, and helpful though. They are the reason I gave it two stars instead of one.

beautiful sunset, uneven campsite.

Perfect location a great, short hike to the beach. Only problems were the lack of cell service, raccoons, and the bathrooms, which are just vault toilets. If you don't mind that, it's a great time.

Host provided wood blocks so I could level my Blue Volkswagen Vanagon. The garbage was alway picked up after the animals had gone throught the cans.
very friendly Host.
Thanks Chris

Beautiful campsite with spectacular ocean views. We were able to see dolphins swimming near the shore.

The best campground we have stayed at through recreation.gov! The camp hosts are extremely accommodating and THE VIEWS... amazing. If you are tent camping, any site is great. However, if you are traveling in your RV, try to get a site that has no grade. Even sites that are described as having a “slight” grade have steep pads.

Camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Private beach was easily accessible and great for exploring. A sandier beach was reachable at low tide.
