Absolutely amazing campground, be careful with the cute raccoons at night trying to take your food! Internet is pretty much non existent and spots have big bushes that help make it feel more private

Scored a last minute spot and it was beautiful. Campsite host (Jesse) was helpful and there was a trailhead right across the street. Great location. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful and scenic, small campground! Felt private and intimate. Note there is no running water, so we picked up water from the fire station down the road. Also lots of poison oak around the campground (didn't affect us) and lots of ticks!

Kirk Creek is a favorite of mine. Small campground, so never too crowded. A hiking trailhead right across the Hwy. Spectacular views. Clean pit toilets. No water, so bring your own. The campground hosts, Tina and Ken, were very friendly and personable. I'll be back.

Kirk as always was special. 1. There was no water in the campground. I saw no mention of it on the website when I booked for two weeks. 2. Also, years ago, the management company had employees to assist the hosts. Now, the hosts are doing everything and are very busy. Fortunately, our hosts were fantastic and cheerful, but as a tax payer, I really wonder about the profit margins for the management company. I am shocked that in a park as busy as Kirk there is so little support.3. Also, the last time we were there, the toilets were flush toilets. Now they are porta potties. In the two weeks that we were there, I did not see any emptying and this was just after spring break. Not that they were not clean, the hosts took care of that but.

Lovely campground with amazing ocean views. Especially quiet due to the road closure on Route 1 just north of the campground in December 2023. We really enjoyed spending Christmas here. campground road is narrow for larger rigs. Our HD truck with 28 ft trailer could just make the turns. Loops connector is closed off, so everyone must drive the entire campground to get to your site and then exit. No cell service but most sites had excellent sky view for our StarLink. no water or dump station at the campground. Freshwater was available at CalFire about 5 miles south. Nearest dump station was Morro Bay State Park where it's $10 whether camping there or not.

This was our third stay at Kirk Creek over the past 4 years, and the current camp hosts are by far the best. Very professional, attentive, and helpful in all ways. The bathrooms were the cleanest they've ever been. The whale watching was also the best we've experienced so far! They were quite close in, right around the kelp beds, as well as lots of seals and sea lions, but bring binoculars anyway. Ice: $6 a bag a few miles south at the general store in Gordo, $3.99 a bag at the general store in Big Sur, but it's a longer drive. Firewood: $15 a bundle at the campground, $12.99 a bundle at the general store in Big Sur. Raccoons: Yep. They know how to open ice chests and steal food from right next to you.

Beautiful coastal campground. Extremely helpful, kind and professional camp hosts. Watch out for raccoons. A bear box trash system would work well!

Stunning view of sunset from the cliff. A short trail to a small beach. Vicente Trail head is just cross the PCH. Make sure to bring water - is is a dry campground. it also has a few sites for bikers.

Great views at pretty much every site, very relaxing. Camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. Make a reservation!! We saw so many people trying to get a site without reservations, only to get turned away. Point blank; you're not going to find a campsite in Big Sur on a weekend without a reservation, it's a long drive back to Monterey and more than likely all the hotel rooms are booked if it's a nice weekend. Please plan ahead!!!

Kirk creek was dope and I look forward to going there again. The camp hosts were chill and very helpful. Would be nice if the fire pits were cleaned more frequently tho.

Amazing as always. They really need to groom some of the extensive poison oak however. It has really grown a lot since the last time we were here about 10 years ago.

Great location! Great staff. Cute little rabbits everywhere. Well maintained park and sites. Toilets are outhouses even clean still nasty. A great improvement would be flushing toilets. But if it keeps people away leave then as they are. Awesome place for a sunset!
