Good times at the camp. Host was professional and other guests nice & quiet. Just wish it was easier to get a site here!

Great campground. Camp sites like the one I got gives you beautiful views of the ocean as well as sunsets. I have been going to Kirk Creek for over 10 years now and never get tired of all the features and activities all within reach. Hiking trails, beaches, various creeks, etc.Carmel and Monterrey Bay are also very close so its nice to travel along the coast for its great panoramas and scenery.

Ended up staying in site 24 after the recommendation of the camp host. It was amazing. The views were great, there was a trail heading down to the beach that was pretty easy, entire place was clean and well kept (including bathrooms) and the hosts were super welcoming and kind. There is a pretty good amount of poison oak in the area and there are critters looking for food so we just made sure to not leave anything out. Theres also no water so be mindful when packing.

Camping used to be economical, but the Forest Service has abdicated in favor of a vendor system with Parks Management Company, and the higher overhead means higher prices. $45/nt for a campground without water is pretty steep, and on weekends it's $47/nt. Infrastructure is decent, but no traffic control (i.e. speed bumps) has camp hosts redirecting the flow with orange cones, an inconvenience for campers. Beautiful setting but no beach access.

It was a bit of a trek to get there with our 28' Travel trailer, but SOOOOOO worth it!The camp host Brent was helpful getting us into our site and then just left us alone. Thank you. With all the rain we've been having, everything was very green and beautiful. A short 1/2 mile hike and we were at a fantastic rocky beach that was stunning.

Very warm welcome by hosts ! One of the beautiful campground ever seen, small, in nature by the sea. Wish we will go again to hike !

Kirk creek is one of the best campground in PCH1. There is alot of place to hike , bike and visit. like Hearst castle, ragged point , sand dollar beach , Elephant sea vista etc... unfortunately due to road closure we weren't able to visit the north part of big sur. This place should be in your bucket list. You can stay here just to relax and enjoy the pacific. My families and friends are so happy and satisfied. Thank you for the host brent and his wife , they are very friendly and kind to all the camper.

Kirk Creek is absolutely beautiful, plenty of hiking near by just note to bring your own water! It has plenty of hiking near by and felt so magical to explore. Will 100% be back.

We love staying here on the (very) rare chance we are able to get a reservation at one of our favorite spots--the park itself is exceptionally scenic and the existing staff who work at this location have always been great--we were very excited to return for a visit when the park finally reopened. However, when our vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly broke down en route, there was no way to get in touch with the park to inform them of a change in plans as the Recreation.gov staff have no direct connections to the local park management company, the park office phone number is a recorded line, and our emails to PMC Parks were never responded to, not even in the weeks following our scheduled stay. We would have loved to speak with a park rep and arrange to keep the final nights of our reservation (one our vehicle had been repaired), even accepting the loss of the first night's cost and applicable late-change fees, but there was absolutely no way to get in touch with anyone there, short of driving the remaining 200-mile distance with the risk that there wouldn't even be a space left for us to stay in.Even if PMC Parks doesn't want to increase the staffing level at the location itself, at the very least they need an information/customer service representative(s) that will return calls/emails in a timely manner.

Our site was #12, it was spacious and is located in the middle upper mound where you can see full view of the ocean. Site #12 can fit at least 8 people.

Site #12 has a great view! Probably my favorite at this campground! You will get to enjoy a beautiful sunset if you're lucky enough to have clear skies. We were there during the Perseid meteor shower and it was amazing. This is also one of the most spacious sites and is decently flat. Keep in mind that the campground is at a slope so it is not completely flat. The bathrooms are right across and the hosts are next to this site. The hosts were very friendly during our stay. This was my second time at this campsite and both times, the hosts made me feel very safe with leaving our basic camping items at the site during the day (tent, canopy, chairs). Hosts have firewood for sale. No cell service (Tmobile), we had service down by the Elephant Seal Vista Point approaching Hearts Castle (heading south from the campsite). The closest store with food, water, ice, an gas was in Gorda (the offer hot showers for $15). As of 8/13/2023, the road closer at Limekiln State Park due to land slide was still in effect so there was no travel really past Kirk Creek campsite.

There is additional parking across the street from the site along the highway. I wish I knew this beforehand so one of my family members could have joined us later on.

Lovely campground. Went at the end of September and was like we were camping in a cloud, i.e. a continuous state of fog and mist. Granted we left the campground around 8am every morning and returned around 5 or 6pm every night, but I never saw sunlight at the campground.

One of my all time favorite campgrounds to go to. Amazing views, decent facilities and a very very unique location. I have been here multiple times and in my opinion the experience is subject to vagaries of camp spot, other guests being considerate and camp host.

By and large never had an issue but this most recent time, I was quite surprised that a generator was running all throughout the day and well into the night (and this was right next to our camp spot so really annoying). Not quite an away from city in the quiet of nature experience I was looking for :(..mind you this has happened only 2 times in the several times I have stayed there.

Secondly, the locations of the camp spot you pick matter..for evenness of the ground, the views and general privacy.

You generally aren't troubled by animals like raccoons or squirrels if you practice good camp ground etiquette. They come sniffing around but if you dont leave food willy nilly you wont have any issues. The small hike to the beach is very nice but watch out for poison oak and ivy which line the trail

Finally, a callout to the camp hosts. They took extra effort to make us feel welcome and keep the facilities clean. Overall an A++ place which I will continue to come back to

Amazing campground, undesirable spot. Lazy campers on the rest of the circle use this spot as a shortcut to the restrooms. Continuously. Even when asked not to. Zero privacy.

The camp hosts were excellent and very attentive - always expressing their desire to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We are experienced campers and have to say these hosts were one of the best we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Thank you.
