Overall a pretty beautiful spot overlooking the ocean. The path down to the beach was poison oak overrun but with careful treading worth the journey. Downsides. No water available. Expensive firewood ($15). Very aggressive wildlife (had a resident fearless raccoon that was pretty startling at times). I enjoyed this campground but long stays I would not recommend.

It was peaceful, clean, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The sites were well kept and it was a perfect place to relax and unplug. Wed definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had an amazing time for our 1st wedding anniversary at this beautiful camp site. We look forward to coming back again very soon. The campsite host was very friendly and nice.

Not great for views, since the bushes block most of it. We were still able to enjoy the sunset at nearby unoccupied sites, and the views are great to/from the toilet! That said, this is a great site if you value privacy, and any stay at Kirk Creek is a great stay.

After driving 4 1/2 hours and getting within 13 miles of the campground, we found the main highway 1 closed, and had been closed for almost a year. To reach the camp ground we would have to backtrack and drive for another 4 hours at night. We ended up staying at a campground close to where we were. Why would either Kirk campground or Rec.gov not say something when making the reservation, or after when they sent a verification email. When we called rec.gov they were no help on refunding the money, and you can not reach anybody by phone at Kirk creek campground, only email. Too bad because we had a great spot that we paid for and did not use. What happened to the day where you talk to someone at the campground, or someone at the reservation company that actually was familiar with the campground..

This has to be one of the premier campgrounds in North America

Ocean views from just about everywhere! Obviously perimeter sites are better, but the setting is ideal no matter what. Bring plenty of water, and then some extra. Beautiful weather in early to mid October and so many whales every single day. I coul hear them blow from my tent!!!

Great place to go and stay calmed. Probably is a good idea to be ready with a roof during day, because the sun use to be warm after 10 am

Campsites are amazing. No water as stated. Not a lot of shade so it does get hot during the day. Trail to ocean is well marked. Bathrooms were kept clean and stocked

Camp hosts are super friendly. Great little hike down to the beach. I don't think there's a bad site in the whole campground.

Kirk campground is gorgeous. The camp hosts are wonderful. The only thing is that its sad how difficult it is to get a campsite if you arent making a reservation some 6 months in advance.

We really enjoyed Kirk Creek. The bathrooms are clean. The views are amazing. The only caveat is that there is a lot of poison oak.

Loved the location but not all grounds are created equal. The raccoons are rampant and at least three snuck up to our tent at night even when we made sure to place all food in the car.

Beautiful spot. Fellow campers were friendly and courteous, as were the camp hosts, who were very accommodating and offered tips on things to do in the area. Great visit!

Really amazing place. All the sites were really good, even the ones back by Highway 1. We stayed at site 11 which was very private, but didn't have quite as good views of the ocean from the picnic table as many of the other sites.

This location was absolutely breathtaking. All of the facilities were cleaned periodically, and I found no issue during my stay. The camp host was gracious and accommodating. I would go again and again!

Beautiful campsite. Crazy second night where we saw whales slapping the water while a gigantic double rainbow blazed as the sun was setting. Keep an eye out for poison oak if you go down to the water. Otherwise, perfect.
