Great location, lots of hikes nearby and Summit lake was fun to float on and cool off after our hikes. Bathrooms were clean. If you have 2 cars the hike from Terrace lake to Summit Lake is easy, mostly downhill, beautiful, and not burned.

Great campground with vault toilets for expiring the whole park!

Nice even with fire damage. Sites were too close together though.

Dixie Fire. Half of the campground is burnt. Very surreal. Camped on 4th of July and it snowed that morning. Bring warm, waterproof gear. Gas up in Susanville. Bringing water not required. Long hike to CinderCone. Bring water and high winds can occur. The trail is ash and dust from the Dixie Fire. Very basic campground. Butte Lake accepts floaters for kids. Kid friendly.
