There is not a level site to be found in Summit Lake North or South. If you've ever slept in a tent on a slant, you know what I'm talking about. No fun. I had site B19 in Summit Lake North. I do not recommend this site at all. No level ground. There is literally a v-shaped driveway. You have side of the v, the site next door has the other side. The night I stayed, there was a small SUV parked in the site, immediately next to the bear box for my site. It took me a while to figure out that the bear box was for my site, not there's, that's how close they were. The only saving grace was that there were flush toilets. I do not believe Summit Lake South has flush toilets, but don't quote me on that.

It was super easy to get into our campsite. It was already reserved (by the host). The campground was tidy. The stars were amazing at night. The campground was VERY quiet which was impressive because the sites are a little close. The only tricky part was the bathrooms had no lights. A great campground experience.

We had a wonderful time here. The water was warm enough to swim and there were nice little hiking trails to enjoy with our 4 yo. Nights were so quiet and it was great to get out of the heat. We definitely want to come back. The only downsides were that a significant part of the park burned in the Dixie Fire, including up to the east side of the campgrounds. There also isnt much space between camp sites so be good with no privacy.
