This was a clean, happy, beautiful campground. There were plenty of trash cans and bathrooms and the bathrooms were super clean. I loved it here.

Site B17 has privacy on 3 sides. No barrier between 17 and 16 but we did not find this a problem, they are on slightly different levels and the tent site is further away. In general the site was good, the tent site felt private, the bathrooms were close but not too close, water spigot across from the site. The only problem was the placement of the table (too heavy to move), it was on a slight slant which made eating and cooking a bit awkward, but not impossible. Also it is right next to the firepit which might be fine if you had no chairs, but was inconvenient to walk between. The site has a private drivethru, but several cars mistook it for the road and had to back up once they saw us. We ended up putting our truck a little higher in the drivethru and that stopped the mixups. The one caution about that site, and those around it - when we drove up we saw that there is a large pond right behind the site. We immediately thought mosquitos would be a problem. Luckily that was not the case on the first 2 nights, but we did experience a couple on the second 2 nights. It could be they were just hatching and we dodged a bullet. This was late July 2023 after heavy snow and late spring. The lake is great to swim in. We saw otters playing in it one day. All in all we had a good time at the site.

Great campsite. The lake is shallow at the shore so it was perfect for the kids to play in. The bathrooms were clean and new. There are trails directly from the campsite and tons more within a 30 minute drive either way. Showers and a store are 20 minutes away at manzanita lake. We had an amazing week with three kids, not a ton of bugs, weather was perfect, mid 70s during the day and mid 40s at night. One of my favorite national parks we have been to, beautiful and thats even with the burn areas.

Fantastic campground! Right by the lake and very serene. Plenty of downed trees nearby to use as firewood, and there is a trail entrance to connect to nearby trails right by this campground as well.Highly recommended, will be staying here again in the future. Fantastic way of enjoying the park.
