Nice setting for cabins. I wish more parks had these. You have to know how to utilize windows for cooling down at night, and closing in the morning to keep cooler longer. Propane heater pilot light does add a little heat.Windows all seem like they could use some wax, as some are very hard to open. Some cabin's window shades need attention. But all in all, I plan on staying every year. Very relaxing location.

Excellent rustic cabins! No water or electricity, but well built and secure. The location by the lake is amazing!

Lovely bare bones, clean cabin, but bring your own lantern. No outdoor sink at the restroom but good pump for water supply. Nice location for accessing the lake and Manzanita Creek Trail which we did hike. Saw a meadow of Lupines near the top and wonderful refreshing stream.

This was a nice cabin along the lake. It was a bit frustrating that rec.gov didnt share the alert that the showers and laundromat are undergoing renovation and were unavailable during our stay. If wed known that we didnt have access to those amenities, we wouldnt have booked it at this time. Also, make sure that when booking that you wait for the confirmation email with details for the lock pad to open the cabins. We booked it on the go higher up on Lassen and didnt wait for further for check in details. There is no service for many miles around and we had to drive sometime to get service to call for our cabin code. Use the pay phones if you need to get ahold of help with the cabins vs trying for service on your cell.

We always have a great time when we stay in the cabins. At manzanita Lake! Our cabin was clean. And this rounding area was very well kept. Our only complaint was that they advertised lanterns in each cabin and there were none, so we had no light. You need to change the listing so that people aren't misled and that they bring their own lantern.

Cabin was nice. I would recommend bringing a lantern as cabin #14 was missing the one that was supposed to be provided and if we hadn’t brought one we would have been sitting in the dark. Great location and would highly recommend staying here.

Awesome rustic cabins right next to Manzanita lake. Just remember to bring your own bedding or sleeping bag to put on top of the mattress they provide.

We enjoyed our stay in Cabin 14. Cabin 14 is unique in that it is away from the other cabins and also that it faces Manzanita Lake. You get a great feeling of solitude and peace there being away from the other cabins. It was thoroughly clean and smelled of pine and features two sets of tables and chairs: one inside and one outside. It also had a picnic table and fire pit. We also enjoyed that it was ADA FRIENDLY in that it featured a ramp access to front door. Another nice thing is that it very close to vault toilets across the lane. Of course, Manzanita Lake is an amazing place to camp in Lassen Volcanic National Park, we cannot recommend it enough. We frequent the area as much as possible. Manzanita Lake camping also has a camp store, gas stations, showers and amphitheater for evening programs. We would heartily recommend this cabin with one caveat. The bed was extremely firm. It was unsleepable for us. We ended up having to use our air mattress we brought. So, if you love firm beds then great! If not, please be prepared so it doesnt adversely affect your stay.

Great clean cabin. Far enough from others to provide privacy and was quiet.

Really convenient, beautiful spot. The heating is excellent. Some cabins have a considerable walk to the bathroom so watch out.

My husband and I had a great time. We were in Cabin 14, on the fringe of the cabin grounds, which is also a minute stroll to the shores of Manzanita Lake (which has a beautiful trail encircling it). The surrounding area was very quiet and peaceful. Our cabin was very clean and we were well informed as to what would be already provided at the campsite, and what we needed to bring. I loved reading on the cabin porch in the early morning. The women's showers were broken/in need of repair, however, my husband and I weren't even expecting to see coin-operated showers at the cabin grounds in the first place. :) I'd highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a bit of quiet and solitude.

These are very nice , smallish cabins, a little warmer than expected. However, having come from camping the night before up at Summit lake, we were surprised that there were no food trash instructions nor bins ( we ended up using the wastebasket inside the cabin) and that the sanitizer in the nearby bathroom was completely out on both sides. There was a sink attached to the outside of the restroom but we could not figure out how to turn the hose on that would have let water reach it's faucet. The lantern is worse than useless ( I had read this going in so no surprise) and despite trying all the wall and heater controls, we could never get the propane heat to come on. Fortunately it was not a big issue though my roommate was quite disappointed. There were lovely flowers in a vase on the front porch, a request envelop for tips, and tissues under the bed left from previous visitors.
