We have been staying at this same cabin for many years. You cannot beat the area and the security and warmth of a cabin. Unless the heater is broken, then, it is a different story! A portable one was provided but it was kind of scary to use. Our phone company is Consumer Cellular. We had service at the turnout in the Chaos Jumbles turnout inside of the park so we would go there. During a thunderstorm, I did receive a flash-flood alert on my phone at the cabin site so that was good to know that alerts work there.

NO HEAT IN CABIN 15 OR MANY OTHER CABINS. NO HELP ON SITE. Paid $300 to hike Mt. Lassen and sleep like a monk on a thick gym mat over a wood bed in a cabin at a high altitude that hit 37 at night. Camping store clerk said they do not service the cabins and I would have to talk to recreation.gov about it. Except, there's no service. The campground is beautiful and well kept but it is just too cold at night with no heat! We flew in and only packed sleeping bags because our reservation specified a cabin WITH propane heating. It was so cold! We stayed three nights and had NO heating available for any of them and many of our neighbors were in the same pickle. I've been far warmer and more comfortable in my tent on snow than this cabin with falsely advertised heat was.

This is an excellent campgound for folks of all ages and a wonder for kids. The cabins were spotless, the store offered lots of food items and the surroundings are amazing.Nice hikes closely and both Manzanita and Little Manzanita are great for water sports or swimming. We recommend this for anyone.

Stayed in the same cabin #15 for three years in a row, blinds have yet to be repaired, price charged should be able to repair window blinds after three years. Other than that very enjoyable stay.

Cabin was great and clean. We were here the last week the cabins were open and they shut the water off so no water was available for showers.

The cabin was quite nice but the bed is not very comfortable.

Manzanita Lake Cabin: Great Location, Needs Cleaning Attention

6/25/24 to 6/27/24Bring a mattress pad or two.Showers and Laundry are unavailable in the park. The cabins are very basic. Cabin 15 has a porch with two chairs and a little table, inside a table and chairs and a bed. Outside a fire pit, picnic table and bear box.If you like firm beds that are harder than the ground, it's perfect. The pilot light on the heater causes the room to heat up overnight. Glad it was a beautiful weekend and the whole park was open.

Cabin was wonderful and overall really happy with the campground.Highly recommend spending time driving thru the park and stopping along the way.We hiked to the top of mount Lassen, which was not easy but the views were absolutely gorgeous. This is one of my most favorite national parks.

Manzanita Lake is one of the prettiest places in California. I love to photograph wildlife up there and hike around the lake capturing the birds, chipmunks, and deer. Last week, I got some great shots of an American Dipper, Stellar jays, and Spotted sandpapers. Osprey and Great Blue Herons were hunting, and of course the coots and Canada Geese were cruising the lake.

Bring clothing for different weather patterns because I experienced sun, rain, hail, thunder and lightning.

The little cabin was very cute. It was also cleaner than all the hotels we stayed at on the rest of our trip. I was worried we would be cold as the temps were dropping at night but the little heater kept us toasty warm. There was a table and chairs in the cabin and a fire pit and picnic table next to the cabin. Highly recommend this great cabin experience!

I checked multiple places and all had conflicting info about pets brijg allowed. I also was put off by the envelope with tips encouraged written on it laying on the table. I ended up deciding not to stay the evening there and just be in my tent, as it felt very unwelcoming and the conflicting info provided was not helpful.

The cabin was clean and nicely furnished with two chairs, a table, a lantern, and a propane heater. The porch also had a table and two chairs. Lassen Volcanic NP was a hidden gem with beautiful lakes and well maintained trails. Must do: Cinder Cone, Manzanita Lake, Lassen Peak, and Bumpass Hell. There were more hikes we did not get to do. The pit toilets were well maintained and sanitation gel was provided .

I need to bring an air mattress or something else because even with a sleeping bag the mattress hurt my back.
