Such a beautiful area! Spent 10 days hiking, kayaking and swimming. Clean showers, bathrooms. Great, helpful staff. Been there five times so far and plan on going again soon!

Lassen is a jewel and we've been camping at the park every year (barring fires) for 42 years and have been using the cabins for about 8 years. Cabin #8 was clean and had a view of Manzanita Lake. The key lock system can be difficult for someone with stiff, arthritic fingers; we had to get help to access the key in the lock box.The window blinds in the cabin were broken in places causing a lack of privacy. One window was very difficult to open and close and its screen was torn.As has been the case for years, the showers were filthy. This year, the water never got warm (much less hot) - had to take a cool shower at 7:00 in the morning. Have travelled abroad & used public showers before going into swimming pools, mineral baths, etc. - those facilities have always been modern and sanitary and I wish Lassen would provide such a facility. The concessionaire needs upgrade the shower building and service it more frequently.

The cabin was clean and nicely positioned with a partial view of the lake nearby. My only negative comment would be regarding the heater. There are no instructions inside the cabin as to how to properly and safely turn it on. You cant turn it on with the thermostat and Im assuming the outside propane needs to be turned on. There should be instructions.

Amazing view of the lake, calm atmosphere, and nearby hiking trails (driving distance). There is no wifi at the cabin but there is wifi at the museum about 1/2 mile away. This campsite was not shady at all - that was unenjoyable when cooking breakfast and dinner but we ate on the porch where it was shaded.

This campground is great and well maintained. Short walk to the lake. The cabin is very cute and wished we couldve stayed multiple nights. My one complaint is that the smell of propane was very intense when we first walked in. I aired it out but at night when we had the windows closed it got intense again even with the heater off. If there is a way to turn of the propane from the outside I might suggest that because the smell is off putting.

Cabins were perfect. Love the big windows with a lake view. Love this campground. Perfect

Great location where steps away from Lake Manzanita. The cabin was neat and cozy. The surrounding was quiet. The restroom and shower room were very clean. The staff in store were friendly and acknowledgeable. We'll come back to there certainly. Only a few things need to be improved. The blinders in the cabin need to replacement, the lock was little hard to open with the key. In all the service was great.

Overall, this is a great spot! We stayed in Cabin 8 at Manzanita Lake. The website said this cabin could fit up to 3, but it actually only has one full bed, so it's intended to sleep 2 (not 3). I think the website may also show a picture of a cabin with a single and full bed, but this is not Cabin 8. There were also lots of really big ants in the cabin, and the blinds in this cabin did not work (so we had to put sheets over the windows at night). Those were the only major setbacks. Otherwise, the cabins were really close to the lake and spot where you can rent kayaks and canoes, which was nice. It is also nice to be so close to the store (where they sell ice cream and other goodies), and close to the flush toilets (which are by the store). I would stay there again, but in a bigger cabin.

Had a great stay. About a minute walk down to the lake. Propane heat kept me toasty warm at night. There wasn’t a lantern as stated, but most people travel with one anyways. Vault toilets nothing special; bearable. Nice having the camp shop so close for coffee in the morning. Bear box and picnic table provided. Bed was decent enough (added a bit extra padding for my comfort level). Nice table and chairs both inside and out. Not all the blinds were totally functional but not a big issue. Lots of kiddos running around- a nice area for families but not super secluded if that’s what you’re after. Overall a nice little solo retreat. Manzanita lake is beautiful and Lassen is always a treat to visit.
