Great place to stay and would come back. The Host was mot very informative and did not tell us the loop we were in was closed the next day for the winter. We had to move our camp the next morning to another loop.

The campground was beautiful, spacious and clean. The bathrooms were also clean and well furnished. Lake Manzanita itself is stunningly beautiful, we enjoyed kayaking the lake and hiking around it too. We also enjoyed a number of other hikes from the location, including to Crags Lake. We also spent a fun day driving over to Butte Lake area where we kayaked the lake and hiked to the top of Cinder Cone. Really awesome views!

Clean, well kept campsites with plenty of room between them. Multiple bathrooms so you don't have to hike a mile to use one.

We were delighted to see that there was a gas station at the campground, so when we needed gas, we felt free to drive past the gas stations outside of the park and wait to buy gas back at the campground. Unfortunately, we were then quite dismayed to find out that both of the pumps at the gas station campground were out of order. It would have been nice if there'd been a more prominently located sign informing us that the gas station would be useless to us, before we had counted on using it.The information given out at the park entrance failed to clearly indicate which locations in the park provide running water. We had hoped to be able to refill our water bottles at either the Bumpass Hell trailhead or the Kings Creek Picnic Area, but we discovered a bit late that we had to drive all the way to either the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center or the Summit Lake Campgrounds to find any running water.Having been to Lassen several times before, I remembered a particular location at the end of the Bumpass Hell Trail and was dismayed to find that the trail no longer leads to the final, greener section of Bumpass Hell that I remember visiting in the past. The boardwalks at Bumpass Hell were completely rebuilt a couple of years ago, and they were not rebuilt in the same configuration as in the past. They no longer allow access to the place that I had fond memories of from many previous visits.Overall, Lassen is still an amazing place to visit. But I was quite disappointed by the redesign of the Bumpass Hell boardwalks.

The campground is in a beautiful location with several hikes in close proximity. Sites are large and nicely spaced. Quite chilly at night in May but days warmed nicely. All in all a great camping experience.
