Nice campground but sites are close together. Trees provide some privacy and there are plenty of them. All sites appear to have plenty of shade most of the day. Lake circumnavigation hike is a short distance from your campsite. Trash picked up daily during our visit.

We stayed at Manzanita Lake Campground for two weeks. Everyone should know that you must reserve a site ahead of time. Even if you arrive and find a vacant site, you will find a sign that says the site is reserved. If there are vacant sites, you need to go onto Recreation.gov to reserve your site....this has become park policy. Be aware that there is limited cell service at Lassen Volcanic National Park. Our two week stay was wonderful! However, there was very little park patrol, no campfire shows, and minimal naturalist talks (only Junior rangers) compared to previous years. We need to all become advocates for our National Parks!

An Outstanding Stay at Site 045 - Manzanita Lake CampgroundWe had the pleasure of staying at site 045 and couldnt have been more impressed with this exceptional campground. The site itself was remarkably spacious, easily accommodating our tent and camping gear with room to spare. The grounds are meticulously maintained, with clean facilities and well-marked pathways throughout. The location is absolutely perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. We were just steps away from the main trailheads, making it effortless to start our daily hikes without having to drive anywhere. The proximity to stunning Manzanita Lake was a major highlight - we enjoyed morning coffee with breathtaking lake views and spent evenings watching the sunset reflect off the water. The on-site convenience store was a lifesaver, stocked with everything from camping essentials and snacks to local souvenirs and fishing supplies. We particularly appreciated not having to drive into town for forgotten items. The laundry facilities were spotless and reasonably priced - perfect after several days of hiking. The gas station prices were surprisingly fair for such a remote location, and the staff was friendly and helpful. What really set this place apart was the sense of community among campers and the peaceful atmosphere, despite being well-occupied. The fire pits are perfectly positioned, and we enjoyed sharing stories with neighboring campers under the star-filled sky. Were already planning our return trip for next season - this campground has everything you need for a memorable outdoor getaway!

Best stars I have ever seen. The campground was quiet and everyone was respectful of quiet hours.

We enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed hiking around the lake and biking up the parks highway to the summit. We stayed in Site 45 Loop A. It is circle Pull through site but the trees need to be trimmed for taller rigs. Made parking and exiting the site a bit difficult.

Park store staff is as helpful when we needed to make an online reservation but didn’t have personal coverage. Campsites were lovely. Had limited time, but enjoyed hiking around Manzanita Lake and the drive through the park was spectacular. Sad to see all the fire damage though.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. All the staff (rangers and store staff) that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Our pull-through site was roomy and level front to back and just a little off side to side. There were plenty off water spigots and trash containers nearby in the campground. The showers worked well. No cell service was available in the campground. The real negative was that most of the washing machines were not working. We saw a bear near Kings Creek, bald eagles and multiple deer. We enjoyed the Sulphur Works but Bumpass Hell was closed. We would camp here again.

Much of the park was inaccessible r/t the damage from Dixie fire and the snow levels were still pretty high. Camp really gets smoky from campfires at night. Oddly lots of inconsiderate folks. Leaving dogs at site to bark for hours. Walking thru others campsites with dogs. Not really accustomed to that behavior in NPS. The camp host did address it after notified. The grounds and sites were well cared for. Camp store had $$$ minimal supplies. Showers were warm and clean. Fishing @ manzanita lake was challenging with spinner and flies, at least not skunked. It is beautiful and serine just off the beaten path.

Great location and beautiful lake. Camp hosts were nice, as well as everyone at the general store. Showers were a nice feature and really enjoyed kayaking on the lake with Lassen in the background.

We were here off season In October 2019 so it was chilly and snow on the ground. We liked our location and site but could not enjoy the firepit due to the cold. We were peeved due to our neighbor using the generator 24/7 and there did not seem to be anyone to enforce the generator guidelines. This campground was a nice location for us to explore the national park.
