We stayed at Manzanita Lake Campground for two weeks. Everyone should know that you must reserve a site ahead of time. Even if you arrive and find a vacant site, you will find a sign that says the site is reserved. If there are vacant sites, you need to go onto Recreation.gov to reserve your site....this has become park policy. Be aware that there is limited cell service at Lassen Volcanic National Park. Our two week stay was wonderful! However, there was very little park patrol, no campfire shows, and minimal naturalist talks (only Junior rangers) compared to previous years. We need to all become advocates for our National Parks!

An Outstanding Stay at Site 045 - Manzanita Lake CampgroundWe had the pleasure of staying at site 045 and couldnt have been more impressed with this exceptional campground. The site itself was remarkably spacious, easily accommodating our tent and camping gear with room to spare. The grounds are meticulously maintained, with clean facilities and well-marked pathways throughout. The location is absolutely perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. We were just steps away from the main trailheads, making it effortless to start our daily hikes without having to drive anywhere. The proximity to stunning Manzanita Lake was a major highlight - we enjoyed morning coffee with breathtaking lake views and spent evenings watching the sunset reflect off the water. The on-site convenience store was a lifesaver, stocked with everything from camping essentials and snacks to local souvenirs and fishing supplies. We particularly appreciated not having to drive into town for forgotten items. The laundry facilities were spotless and reasonably priced - perfect after several days of hiking. The gas station prices were surprisingly fair for such a remote location, and the staff was friendly and helpful. What really set this place apart was the sense of community among campers and the peaceful atmosphere, despite being well-occupied. The fire pits are perfectly positioned, and we enjoyed sharing stories with neighboring campers under the star-filled sky. Were already planning our return trip for next season - this campground has everything you need for a memorable outdoor getaway!

Best stars I have ever seen. The campground was quiet and everyone was respectful of quiet hours.

We enjoyed our stay. Enjoyed hiking around the lake and biking up the parks highway to the summit. We stayed in Site 45 Loop A. It is circle Pull through site but the trees need to be trimmed for taller rigs. Made parking and exiting the site a bit difficult.

Park store staff is as helpful when we needed to make an online reservation but didn’t have personal coverage. Campsites were lovely. Had limited time, but enjoyed hiking around Manzanita Lake and the drive through the park was spectacular. Sad to see all the fire damage though.
Very clean with running water, the camp store is well equipped with essentials and showers are great

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
