Positives: ample-sized site, lots of space. Proximity to the lake trail, which is a real plus. Proximity to the camp store, which had a nice selection of useful and fun things. Beautiful grounds. Plenty of restrooms, water, and trash containers.Negatives: the noisiest campground I have ever stayed at. Yes, it was very populated. But were there any enforced quiet hours?! Not on the night we stayed there!

Manzanita Lake was a great place to stay! Beautiful trees and the lake was a short walk away. Bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. The visitors center and museum are a short drive and provide great resources on the area along with a detailed overview of the history of the land. It was very crowded when we went and witnessed people just not respecting space and leaving trash around. Hiking trails were very busy I suggest starting early in the morning to get a good parking spot. Dogs are not allowed on the trails due to wild life but trash cans are provided. Unfortunately people were disregarding the signage as dogs were on every trail. People did not discarding their pets' waste bags as many were left along the trails. I'd highly recommend this camp site and the national park itself as its beautiful and I'd definitely come back. I suggest the Leave No Trace rule be practiced and have courtesy for each other if you plan on visiting.

Campsite was excellent, nice and large. Only issue was that the showers were being renovated while we were there so no shower access.

Manzanita Lake is so pretty! There's actually a little store at the campground where you can buy food and goods which is really cool! Each campsite has a bench, fire place, and parking spot for 2-3 cars. There are trails that go around the lake which give very beautiful views of Mt. Lassen. The bathrooms were very clean and there are stations to wash dishes at each bathroom location and lots of places to throw away your garbage. It does take a while to drive all the way into the park. For example, if you're driving from Manzanita Lake to Mt. Lassen trailhead it's going to take around 20-35 minutes if not a little more. But other than that, it's a beautiful campsite :)

A full service campsite, excellent gateway to all that Mt. Lassen has to offer! Loved being able to take a shower after longs hikes and kayaking the lake was a wonderful way to start the day.
