This was a lovely campground for our 1 night stay! The lake is right off the sites with a beautiful view of what I assume is Lassen peak. Only 40 minutes from some great Lassen National Park attractions. And the campground store serving soft serve and offering showers was an extra bonus!

our family has been going to Manzanita Lake for 43 yrs. We obviously love it. The campground is very nice, shaded, campsites are not on top of each other. The kids like riding their bikes up to the camp store for ice cream. I must admit I do not like the makeover the store got a couple of years ago. I really miss the quaintness of the old store. There are so many great hikes to do throughout the park, and it is not over-croweded. The walk around Manzanita lake in the evening gives spectacular views of Mt. Lassen at sunset. With the addition of the cabins satisfies everyone in the family's needs.

We had a wonderful camping experience. The highlight was camping under the trees and the beautiful hiking trail around the lake. A few things:1. Previous campers left so much trash in the bear proof food container box. We had to dispose them which was not fun at all. 2. We arrived at night so we could not see where the restrooms were and which ones were open until the morning.

We had a great time at Manzanita Lake! It was very quiet and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

I loved our first campsite loop C site 26. Lots of room. Loop A was filled with a lot of RVs and a lot of noise. I highly recommend the hike around the lake!!!

Very nice clean bathrooms, surprisingly not many bugs in there in the bathroom in day or night time. Nice staff

Excellent place to stay to see Lassen National Park. Great facilities and quiet campground. Felt safe. Loop A is a great loop for access to the Manzanita lake loop trail.

This was a fantastic little campground! The sites are spacious and spread apart (at least in the A loop). The views are amazing and there are plenty of trails right in the campground. Also seemed to be plenty of kayaks available for the small use they were getting. There was plenty of water taps and trash cans available and everything was kept clean. Not everything was working though - there wasa small laundromat by the store and shower area, but only 1 out of 4 washers was functional - not a huge deal; but was disappointing as it meant we had to stay there to make sure we didnt miss our opportunity to wash some clothes. The water spigot closest to us also leaked a lot, which led to somone taping a box over it so that no on e could use it. Dont even know if that was done by the staff or not. The store is great and had WAY more than the other camp stores we were in on our 4 stop itinerary. I would definitely go again!

We had a great trip! Plenty to do on site. Paddle boarding, hiking and it was ok to gather wood for evening fires. Check the rules! We loved our hike to the top of Lassen. We also loved Cinder Cone. It was early in the season so some of our choices were closed.

I had an excellent time camping at Lassen Volcanic NP, Lake Manzanita. The campground hosts were fantastic. Since Rt. 89 was not yet opened to through traffic for the season, I had a couple open spots on my agenda, and they were fantastic with recommendations. Without the hosts' input I would not have seen the lava tube outside of the park or gotten up to Burney Falls at a State Park (although about 45 miles away--it was stunning).

Campground was beautiful: sites were spread out and nicely maintained. While we used the bear box, there was no bear activity reported. COVID-19 signage was good and everyone we encountered had masks on. Bathrooms were adequately maintained. Ice availability at the store was spotty, at best, and we had some food spoilage.

Family friendly campground. A walk around the Manzanita Lake is must do. We did fishing, kayaking and hiking at the lake, and it has amazing views during the whole day but especially early in the morning and sunset. We also enjoyed the ride within the national park. Lots of scenic views. Boiling mud pots must see!
