We had two adjacent sites and there was ample space to pitch tents. Did not feel too close to our neighbors. Short walk to a gorgeous meadow where we could see the beautiful night sky.

The sites are widely spaced, and I had a lot of privacy. Backed up against the woods. Excellent site for a tent. Bathrooms were clean. Wonderful showers. Pay $5 and every female in your group gets unlimited showers for your entire stay. Same for the guys. I didnt give Lake Manzanita 5 stars because its huge, crowded, and noisy. I was there during the height of the summer season in mid July. Off peak times Im sure its quieter. No visibility to the lake. Campstore and visitor center were close, with strong WiFi at the visitors center available after hours outside the building.

We enjoyed Lassen NP and camping at Manzanita Lake it is a beautiful place! Our camp site was great lots of trees for shade and a large bear locker that we could store our cooler and supplies in. The bathroom situation was interesting lights only seemed to go on in the morning, so they were off at night?! So bring a lantern! Bring cash despite it being a credit card only park, gas station at the camp store only takes cash for gas (or fill up before entering the park), wood was pricey at the camp store $15 a bundle (4 logs).

Nice site, plenty of firewood, bathroom and sink with running water. Everything we could hope for.

Manzanita lake campground was wonderful. We we in D loop and it was not buggy. The only pests were squirrels which were manageable. You need to put all food in bear box or you will get a ticket. Nearby Lake manzanita was great for inner tubes and other inflatables. As a whole Lassen National Park was not crowded, although this year there was road construction with 15-20 minute waits. There is no cell service at the campground, but there is at higher elevations near Lassen Peak. Bumpass trail was great for kids 8-13.

We camped at site D23 and loved every moment. The site was great because it backed the woods so there werent too many neighbors. And camping at Manzanita Lake is great for the convenience of the shop/gas as well as the beauty of the lake itself. Would gladly return to this location and campsite.
