Starting with the reservation process. Reserving online was fast and simple. Very self explanatory even with putting in our lifetime pass number.Arriving on check in date, I wasnt really sure if we needed to check in. Stopped at store and was advised that check in was done online so we didnt need to do anything. He also stated if there was any problems to see the camp host which they were in loop A. We got to our spot which was clean and no trash around. Nice big site. Bathrooms were clean and no smell to them. Settled in nicely. The next day went to the store to get firewood. Yes, firewood is $15 but it was fine. We had a neighbor share a couple of pieces of wood when they left and we paid that forward for a family that just had arrived when we left.At the store we purchased the shower at $5 for each person for the time there. Well I guess I should have looked before. The door to the womens shower room did not close. For me that was a deal breaker. There were like 5 shower stalls with curtains to close off each stall. I left my husband there to take his shower and I went back to the camper and took mine. Was trying to save water. It turned out just fine. The store clerk was extremely helpful and nice. We did not buy anything from the coffee/food counter but was opened and busy. Which to me it signals good food/coffee and service.Down by the lake there is a place to rent kayaks to go out on the lake. There is also a path you cant take to walk around the lake. If Im not mistaken it is 1.8 miles. A pretty short trail. The only drawback/take away was the neighbor next to us thought it was OK to walk right through our camp. I suppose being from a different country it is not a big deal to them. Otherwise I would recommend staying at Manzanita Lake.

Manzanita Lake campground was just fine. It was full over the weekend....Thursday thru Tuesday...but mellowed out mid week. A gully washer of a hailstorm helped check everyone's motivation ;) Had some noisy neighbors but the CG Host and Park LE dealt with it perfectly. The wife and I enjoyed our weeklong stay at the park. Saw all 4 corners even though the thru road was still closed. Park Staff was great even if staffing levels are down and attendance was up. Support AltNPS :)

It is a very nice campground within a short walk of the lake. Hike around the lake is beautiful. Lots of wildlife. The only negative was a few idiots who had to run generators all evening.

The campground was beautiful and the campsites were spacious, and even though our site (B35) was close to the bathroom, people didn't need to walk through our site to the bathroom. Our fire ring was broken, and it was full of ash. Some wet asphalt around our site stuck to the car/trailer tires, and we had hard time scraping it off. We enjoyed hiking the Manzanita Lake trail and the Chaos Crag trail from our campground, and the soft serve ice cream at the store at the end of the hike was nice. Unfortunately, the smoke from Dixie fire prevented us from more hikes, and our car was covered in ash.

We have been camping at manzanita lake early june for the last several years. Really like the camp ground but the fishing is tough. if the fishing was easy it would take take the joy out of the catch, much like making a hole in one in golf.
