The campground was fine. However, to reach the site, you have to endure 6.5 miles of dirt road that is mostly washer-board.

Would definitely reserve again. Had to travel about 6.5 miles on a gravel road and cell phone service is very spotty. The lake and hiking trails were a very short walk away from the campgrounds. Cinder cone volcano was a short hike (about 1.5 miles) away on the trail. Once at the base of cinder cone it is a good 800ish foot hike up the volcano to the top, not an extreme hike but it is a bit of a challenge and got some cell phone service as we ascended. I would recommend booking any site at this location. My travel trailer is about 29 feet long and entering/exiting the campground was manageable.

Butte Lake campground at Lassen Volcanic is far but clean and views are breath taking with easy access to hiking trails
