Clean, quiet park. Beautiful lake. Town of Minden is nice - worth the visit. Try Geaux Fresh restaurant- excellent! One issue coming into the park- turn into the road at the Beaver Dam recreation area sign. Then you will see sign for campground at the dump station.

Just stayed 1 night, but it is a nice park. Could use some work on the roads and limb trimming.

The fire rings at beaver dam campground in caney lakes recreation area are a major disappointment, they are too tall and many of them are missing a charcoal grate making cooking almost impossible.I suggest that they be replaced with fire rings that are about 6 to ten inches tall like many state parks use.Because beaver dam camp is my primary campground Im forced to bring my own grill.

The sites are very nicelots of treeson the water. The bathhouse was closed due to freezing weather. However, the bathhouse really needs updating. I will definitely return.

Beautiful park and gem of a campsite. The sites around us were empty so we had a 180 degree view of the lake. Site and grounds were very clean.

The site was large and had a beautiful view of the lake. We only stay one night in our travel home so we were not able to partake of local activities.

Great park and very friendly host who was quite helpful. Take a ride to Gibsland for the Bonnie & Clyde museum. If you like fried chicken go to Cottons in Minden for the best fried chicken ever.

Campground was nice. Sites mostly level with nice gravel Bathrooms are horrendous. Showers unusable and not very well kept.

Campground was very clean and the Host Mike was very helpful with information. Enjoyed riding the bike trails, taking a 5 mile hike around the lake and doing some kayaking. Spots were spaced out nicely. We will be back for sure.

Peaceful and beautiful. Love the sugar cane hike. We stayed 5 days at site #17 and enjoyed the views very much, T-Mobile has 2 bar 4G for watching smart TV, no checking in station but host is very helpful and the whole campground is maintained very well and kept clean. Didn’t use the restroom and showers though.

Camp Host, Larry was helpful and knowledgeable. The only negative is as with many public campgrounds the signage giving directions to the campgrounds is lacking. They are either nonexistent or are to close to where you have to turn off a highway. Going north on St road 159 there is sign close to turnoff that only says the name of the national forest. There is no mention of the Beaver campground. We came in from the north on 159 and I don't recall seeing any sign for either the forest or campground. Sites are large and well maintained. The is ample spacing between most sites.

The campground hosts were great! The spot is BEAUTIFUL and super peaceful. It's been a while since I have been among such tall trees. Completely reminded me of "home."
Sites are very easy to get into. Showers and baths were kept clean and trash was picked up every evening from the trashcans around the CG.

Great place to camp it’s very woody …Great fishing… The campsites are big and very spacious it’s very nice… they just need to clear some of those weeds so you can have access to the lake from your campsite

Absolutely a beautiful place to camp. A little out of the way, but well worth the trip. Wish I could have spent more time there.
