we loved the trails for hiking and the convenience of garbage cans spread throughout the park for easy access to dispose of the garbage.

Nice campground. Extremely rude camp host. On the fourth or fifth day of our stay I was approached by three dogs while out walking my dog. The camp host said what do you want me to do about it, so I called the ranger station and they sent someone out. Unfriendly and unhelpful during every encounter we had.

Very nice with a few notes. There was no real way to know where to check in. No map so we had to go looking for the dump station. Site 10 was a little challenging to back in to due to the ditches beside the road. Parts of the road are narrow for inexperienced drivers.

The campground is in a forested area and has nicely spaced sites. Some are full sun and some partly shaded. Our site was level and paved. Unfortunately, there is no Verizon signal here and we were not able to stay.

Couldn't get cell coverage from my phone carrier, which is a major one. Also, better signage letting patrons know where sites are, rather than having people drive around until they happen to find them would be appreciated

Great quiet get-away spot North of Minden, LA. Large campsites with level camper pads. Gravel area with nice extended tables and large fire pits. This area is on shores of Upper Caney Lake where you are surrounded by beautiful piney woods. Spotted dear on a hike on trails along the lake. White and pink dogwood, peach-pink wild azaleas, purple wisteria and plenty of roadside wildflowers were blooming throughout the park. Camp host on site can provide directions or help if needed. Some sites are reservable while others are FCFS. Minden is short drive for groceries or gas or restaurants. Most restaurants are still not seating inside because of Covid-19 virus. There was a Mexican restaurant that was open inside. Beaver Dam Campground is the place for family, fishing, boating, hiking and relaxing.
