Ranger Ela welcomed me so nicely with a check in and helped me figure out water source since the spigot by my site was not working. The restroom was clean. I like the campground but the experience depends on your neighbors. The sites in the middle and those further in the back seems great for flat spots. Those on the sides seems to have uneven grounds. I arrived Weds to spend a night before my backpacking trip. It was great until 9pm when inconsiderate campers across my site arrived and turned on super bright lights (camp & car head lights) like there's a movie shoot - I was awakened by it. Other than their stationary light, everyone seems to be holding their own handheld super bright lights and the reflection moves as they walk around - felt like I have a disco scene at my site. I waited 2hrs to let them set up and then approached them nicely about the lights; they only turned the main light around so it won't point at me but it took til past midnight to wind down on all other beaming lights including their cars' headlights! If you will be camping here (or anywhere) please be courteous to your fellow campers - lights, sounds, tidiness etc especially if you are arriving late/towards quiet time. Everyone wants to enjoy time being in nature and I am sure you do not want your experience ruined by rude visitors.

This was my 3rd visit to the Sheep Creek campground. My previous visits were excellent, and as far as the campground itself goes this was no different. The huge problem with this visit was the lack of rangers to enforce the campground rules, which lead to a rather disappointing experience where on one site (!) a group of no less than 20 people settled (max is supposed to be 6) with multiple huge tents and proceeded to run a generator well into the night (past midnight) in order to run the amplifiers, huge speakers and lighting system for a full blown party with a DJ blaring into his microphone every couple minutes. This is the kind of stuff that you can expect in some small regional campgrounds, rude people that the rules don't seem to apply to, but in some 20 years that I've been camping in the NPS campground I HAVE NEVER ran into anything remotely close to this.It was completely unacceptable and unfortunately was not shut down by the rangers who seem to be understaffed (budget? Covid? who knows..).This was a terribly disappointing experience which I hope to never repeat.Hopefully someone at SeKi picks this up and sends more rangers to make sure the campgrounds aren't turning into a war zone at night.
