The campground was clean, including the restrooms. The river was just a short walk away from our campsite. I highly recommend this campground to whomever is thinking about visiting Kings Canyon National Park.

Be aware that if you have forgotten your campsite number, or someone else is in your campsite, there's not much that can be done about it. (In my case, I saved the reservation email to a folder, but I didn't open the folder on my phone before leaving cell range, so the folder didn't sync.)The visitor center is closed. There's no WiFi or cell service. No one at the lodge can help. There's a payphone by the visitor center (with sticky buttons that sometimes mis-dial), and you can call Recreation.gov toll-free (and hold for 20 minutes), but without your reservation number, they are unable to give you any help (they can't or won't search by name, campsite, etc.) Recreation.gov gave me the number of the "local" office (50 cents for a local call), but it just goes straight to voice mail and they say to leave a message, and they will call you back (but, of course, no cell service at Cedar Grove, so you won't be getting a return call). No where to get more coins for the pay phone (guy at the Cedar Grove lodge says he can't give out coin because of the "coin shortage" - if that was ever true, it was several years ago.)Solution: Recreation.gov or NPS needs to make the WiFi at the Cedar Grove visitor center public, like it is up top at Grant Grove. Otherwise, you'll be making a 2 hour, 60 mile round-trip, burning a lot of fuel, to resolve any issue.

Park rangers were really nice and helpful. Park was clean. Some visitors didnt really care about bears/wildlife and the fire danger, but maybe that's the american way of camping.
