Great view, you can hear the River thats near by. A bit rocky but we made it work.

The campsite was amazing! The rangers were so friendly and knowledgeable, 5 stars to them and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE! Loved having the store reopened! Cant wait until the showers and restaurant reopens. And the laundry will be nice, But roughing it at Lodgepole is still WONDERFUL! My only criticism is that the bathrooms were not well maintained and need to be redone. I think the new Congressional funding and end of COVID scarcity of workers will address all that. It is also a problem of some of the campers, who appear to have been raised in a barn. Thank heavens this place was saved from the fires. Our firefighters and park rangers are out American heroes! Now if the rest of us will help give them a break and fight global warming, we will really show we care!

Services were mentioned (shower, visit center nearby, washing machine, market) but nothing was open, I had to leave before my second night that I still had to pay, no commercial gesture, the sequoia park is beautiful but the least good in terms of NPS service, the prices of campgrounds are much more expensive than in other parks for no reason since there is no service Very disappointed with this passage.

Lodgepole campground is in a prime location for sightseeing all over Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park, the spot is key. I love how close it is to many trails and along the Kaweah, so we could hear the river from our campsite. However, due to the heavy winter stores not much was open at Lodgepole. The visitors center, market, souvenir shop, and the showers were all closed. It’s pretty brutal to not shower for five days after hiking around and camping. Furthermore, the campground seemed very short staffed. No one cleaned our bathrooms (only two working stalls for about 60 women) for many days, and no one took out the overflowing garbage bins near our campsite. We would walk about a quarter mile or more to the nicer bathroom facility that had all 4 toilets working. We had to hike our trash across the river to an emptier trash bin to throw our trash away. Once they get enough staff and fix the storm damage it should be running smoother.
