We recently stayed at lodgepole site 072 for two nights. First night we made dinner and got swarmed by about 35 yellow jackets. They wouldn't leave us alone and it was so hard to cleanup without getting bit. Just be aware if you stay at this site there might be a nest nearby. After that we didn't make any food at our site because you couldn't eat in peace and it was a headache cleaning up while being chased by hornets. The tent pad did fit our 14'x10' tent. The tent pad was very close to the neighbors tent pad. Parking was level with the site, no walking up a trail to your site. The river was very beautiful and nice to listen to all night. Bathrooms were not well maintained and no lights in bathroom so bring a headlamp. The campground is located near a lot of the main attractions and trailheads.

Mind boggling is the only way this place can be defined.

We had a great time at Lodgepole Campground! We rented two campsites #81 and #72. Campsite 72 was very spacious and not too close to other sites, however it had very little shade. Campsite 81 had full shade, it was close to the restrooms, close to the water spigot and there were extra unassigned parking spots in front of it if you have more than one car. However, it is much closer to several other campsites, but that was not an issue. Both sites have a river view and are very nice. During our stay, we saw a bear and three deer near campsite #81. None of them cared that we were there and we never felt unsafe. Another thing is that there was no service at all with T-Mobile. Only the people with Verizon seemed to get calls and texts. Overall, it was a great experience and I definitely recommend staying at Lodgepole!

Great campground to spend a few nights in. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly. I recommend going to the nightly ranger talks at the amphitheater and taking the shuttle around the park.
