Overall the campground is great. Enjoyed the location and the Ranger talk on site. Bathrooms need a major renovation. Walking distance to the market. Lots of wasps making it hard to relax especially when cooking meals or eating.

The bathrooms by site #20 were disgusting. Toilets overflowing with feces, trash all over, sinks had puke in them. I asked the ranger to please resolve this and it took a few days to be handled. We were told to use the bathrooms at the Visitors Center in the meantime (which closed at 9 and didn't open until 8am), which also were filthy. The showers were disgusting as well (massive clumps of hair, trash, etc,) and most were not working. I learned that these are handled by the visitors center, not the rangers. Upon requesting to have them cleaned and the quarter machines emptied in the 2 stalls that worked (They were so full you had to shake them down to get your quarters in to take a shower-FYI $1 gets you 3 minutes), I was informed "Well we can't just go in there and clean them! And there's a guy that comes every so often to empty the machines. We don't do that" Mind you this is July, the peak season. I don't mind roughing it, but with what they charge for nightly campsites/things at the visitors center, they can afford to maintain the bathrooms/showers.

Close to a lot of the must see places.

Good overall experience at this site. It is close enough to the river that you can hear the river, but the river is not visible and the sound is not overwhelming. Very close to the bathrooms, but not so much where the traffic is an issue. We were able to fit 2 cars (a jeep and a 4-Runner) onto the pad, and two tents. The site is pretty flat. This site is near the entrance of the small loop, as well as near the front of the campground, so there is higher exposure to traffic than say, if you were in the upper part of the campground. Limited shade at this site, so exposure is high. This site is average; there are better, and there are definitely worse.

Not the most level sites, but adequate. Couldn’t shower due to drought conditions. Saw two of the best ranger programs ever. Could not believe how quiet it was at night. Brightest stars I have ever seen. All rangers were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely go back. Overall a very good experience.

Beautiful campground, we did tent camping for 2 nights. Several water faucets close to the campsite and restroom are not too far either. Only downside was that Showers were closed for the season at Lodgepole market place
