This third week in August was a beautiful week to be in Sequoia NP. Great weather, friendly and helpful Rangers and best of all, not crowded. Plenty of (100+) FCFS campsites to choose from. Showers were closed, but bathrooms have flush toilets, water and were clean. Nice level tent pad in our campsite. Great hikes from Lodgepole and nearby Wolverine. Watch the sunset from Beet Rock across from the Museum.

The campsite was almost at the back of the Lodgepole camping area, which meant that it was quiet as it was far from the parking lot and shuttle pick-up point. A water source and toilet was nearby, which was very convenient. It was a short walk to the river. We also saw a bear in the morning, I guess the chances of seeing a bear are higher as there was less noise from people around this site. This site is perfect and I have no complaints.

several bathrooms were down throughout labor day weekend. they should be serviced as soon as possible. a fire ban was in effect during that weekend. sites are very close to each other and several sites do not offer much privacy.

Beautiful and well-maintained camp sites. Convenient food boxes and picnic tables. There are showers located at the Lodgepole Visitor Center/Market area.

We loved our stay at Lodgepole. The hike to the nearby waterfall was stunning and not too strenuous for our young hiker kids. We took advantage of the free public shuttle to check out the other trailheads throughout the park and didn't move our car even once in 5 days!
