Be mindful of which campsite you book. Some are listed as "no generator" once you arrive though this is not current on the map online. This along with the host not being present resulted in us having to leave the Lodgepole area to utilize our generator prior to camping for the night. On the positive, the Visitor Center was very nice and the facilities are nice but are very well used if not overused.

The Rangers at the gate and Laura the Volunteer 100% went above and beyond. Very helpful and friendly.

Ist was a great experience to stay at this campground. Ist was a pity that the market, etc. was already closed for the season (campground was full).

Perfect spot if you want to discover the Park without taking the car!! You can walk or take the Park busses everywhere. Keep youre food etc in the lockers, bears are there and in the night! Rangers are doing there rounds all the time! Thanks

We really liked campground except visitor center was closed on memorial weekend and no showers.

Amazing location, clean campsite, attentive park rangers, and great ambiance!
Added bonus, were the 8pm special topic talks at the amphitheater.

Site 56 at Lodgepole Campground is an idyllic spot. The proximity to the river was a big plus; we could hear the sweet music of the water as we went to sleep and then hear it again when we awoke. The site is a little on the small side, but the parking spot for our rental RV was nice and level, so all we needed was the table and the firepit. We would go to Lodgepole campground again and we'll try to get the same spot, site 56.

This is the quietest campground I ever stayed at. Little to no generators running, or kids screaming or loud party music. Loved that aspect. Lots of hiking but not much else. My only complaint is that I tried to enter the south entrance to Sequoia with my 24' motor home and the park ranger told me to not go that way due to switchbacks. The ranger recommended I enter through the north entrance. I wish I had known that before wasting 2 hours of driving time. Even the north entrance was slow and curvy. I would not go thru the north entrance with a large motor home or trailer.

Great location in the center of the park. Grocery, showers and laundry in walking distance. There is a beautiful stream that runs through the campground. Also access to hiking trails from the campground and shuttle buses to other destinations. Tokopah falls trail starts at the end of the campground. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
