A wonderful place to visit. We visited early fall, so we missed the shuttle service through the park, however we also missed the summer crowd. The campgrounds were very nice and the availability to the visitors center and the adjacent facilities was convenient. We attended a presentation at the amphitheater about bears that was fun and informative. There are many hiking trails with various difficulty to choose from. A great place to unwind and relax.

Mid June 2023 reservation for 2 nights. The site was unusable due to standing water in all areas of the site including the parking pad.
I agree with another poster that there is no good spot for a tent on this site anyway.

Lodgepole campground is great overall, unfortunately, we were not able to use site 48 in June of 2023 because snowmelt and rain had left a 4 inch puddle of water on the car pad and some of the site. This site is smaller than its neighbors. It is close to the river, with only one row of sites in between. The loop that it sits on is nice as well, but unfortunately, we were not able to use it.

We stayed in site 48. Reserved this for our RV without knowing that generators are not allowed in this loop. We have solar on the RV so it was not an issue, I missed that information on the site review page though. For our RV (28ft), this site was excellent. Super flat and plenty of room for RV. It's also a wonderful location, down by the river, about average spacing between sites for a national park, and just a really beautiful place. If we're returning to Lodgepole in the future, I'll definitely be putting site 48 at the top of my list.

The location of this site is amazing, it is just beside the river. The campground is clean and has all amenities. The main problem we had with this specific campsite (#48) is that the listing saying the tent site is near river (Which is across the road) and we had pitched our tent there and there is a nice flat area there. But the ranger on patrol told us we cant camp near the river and we have to camp on this side of road. There is absolutely no space to pitch tent there. It is rocky and not flat at all. The ranger told us we will have to adjust there. We had to pitch 2, 2 person tents in rocky area and none of us got much sleep. This was disappointing as this is listed as tent site. I think this is more like an RV only site.

Public showers and a lot of amenities in the visitor center were closed. Campsite was pretty nice overall.

Wish there was hookups, or at least a dump station. Unfortunately it was out of service while we were there.
