Lodgepole CG is an amazing beautiful place with a spectacular location in the heart of Sequoia NP. The river running directly through the campground and the surrounding cliffs and forest gave the feeling of real isolation but with the comforts of nearby facilities for food and supplies. Highly recommend this place if you are planning a visit to Sequoia!

Campsite location is perfect with the river flowing nearby. The sound of running water is so peaceful and helps to drown out most noise from other campers. Bathrooms were very clean with sinks and flush toilets. Lodgepole Market was open and had a large selection of food, drinks, camping items, and firewood for sale. Not all of the sites are flat or have a good space to pitch a tent. Sites 36 and 37 were quite sloped and had limited space for tents. The ground was also pretty firm with a layer of rock underneath that can make it difficult to place stakes. Saw a few deer walking around but other than that we did not encounter any other animals during our visit.

The Lodgepole Campground is in a great location in the center of Sequoia National Park. It's a short shuttle ride to the General Sherman Tree and another short ride to the museum. The rangers are very careful about bear safety and rightly so. My only criticisms are that the campsites are small and close together, and the bathrooms are small and not well equipped.

Really clean and nice campground. Water spigots, fire pits, decently flat tent sites. The market nearby is an awesome resource for quick items. Tons of bear activity during the summertime (so much so we saw about 6 in one night). Just be prepared to deal with them since you are in their territory. They are incredibly active at night and will rummage through unlocked items, walk right next to your tent, etc.
