It was a great campground. After 2 days backpacking it had just enough amenities to feel like a 5 star resort! Would definitely return with the kids next time.

Experience at Lodgepole was disappointing. Campsite 133 was covered in trash and was very close to neighboring sites. There was a large family gathering at the site next to mine, and both adults and children frequently just walked straight across my site. The campground just keeps "reserved" signs automatically up at every site, even if they're not filled, so it was also disappointing to see there were some better sites that remained open through the night. Definitely plenty of sites I would avoid due to lack of privacy/closeness, but there were some sites that look better - 100s are better sites than the lower numbers (which have limited trees), and I would instead try to hit 132, 134/135, 140, 144, 105-107, 100-101, 86, etc. On the bright side, this site got both shade and sunlight in perfect amounts, is close to the creek (across the road), easy walk to the bathroom, and was able to set up a hammock here.

Very nice campground in the middle of Sequoia Park; the best place to stay if you want to discover Sequoia. All the ingredients for a great vacation are there: river, campfire and nice spots for both tents and RV's.

We stayed 3 nights and had to move sites each night but well worth it. People were all friendly as were rangers. Site133 the second night there was my favorite of the 3 we stayed in. Site 04 & 210 were the other 2 we had. Site 133 is pretty much full shade among the trees. No one across from you so nice view. Shared parking with 2 other sites though and it was awkward to back in a truck due to angle of the road here. A bit of an uphill hike to bathrooms but as we had no one camping around us, we could go any which way up. Bathrooms here do not have lighting so need flashlight. Other Loops have lighting so easy to see. Water spigot right below site. Dishwashing station outside bathrooms. Easy to pitch a hammock and/or tent on this site. Beware there is a huge ant colony of huge ants here that is near parking spot but only active at night and no interest in anything we had or did. Think Covid or super hot weather kept people from showing up which was great for us as park was booked full but our upper loop was pretty vacant. Was comfortably nice thanks to pine trees. Much hotter and no shade at 04 & 210.

Campsite was located right next to the stream and had plenty of shading. My only complaint would be the sites are a little to close for total comfort. We had 4 preteens in our group and were slightly concerned about our normal noise level. Overall, it was perfectly located. The store and shuttles are in walking distance.

Lovely campground. The sites are laid out in a way that while close together, there is separation because of the varying heights of the sites (at least in the loop we were in). It is walking distance to the shuttle which takes you to various places within the park. We spent one day driving ourselves to Kings Canyon, but we used the shuttle to get to different trailheads within Sequoia, which can get very busy with visitors.
