This is in a great location for the giant forest but is very busy due to this. Our site was very close to neighbors with no privacy. The fire that our neighbors built was too big and smoked our tent out. Lots of big groups of kids making lots of noise. If you want quiet, go elsewhere. The shower block is only open from 8am to 7pm.

We loved the campground, overall. The sound of the river muffled the normal campground noises of passing vehicles, car doors, and loud neighbors. Our kids had ample room to play and we felt safe letting them roam. The campsites are a little cramped, but that wasnt too bad. The site was well-equipped with a good picnic table, fire ring, and level tent pad. Our one major complaint, which is a common theme among National Parks, is that the restrooms and showers were disgusting. Just a little bit of effort to keep them clean would go a long way, but thats clearly a very low priority for the park service.

Great campsite location! Overlooks the river and we were able to take a quick walk to relax by the water. Restrooms are also close-by but not so close you can hear people using them. This particular campsite felt much larger than our neighboring ones. However we only set up 1 tent on the tentpad; everywhere else looked a little rocky to set up another tent so it may not be great for multiple groups. If I had to make one complaint, there is little shade until the late afternoon/evening. Overall a great campground and site!

Nice site for backpackers making ready for the trails originating out of LodgePole CG, the Twin Lakes trailhead is within sight. Easy shuttle or trail walk through the giant forest from LodgePole to Crescent Meadows for the HST. There was bear activity in this area however, was not threatening- be sure to practice Leave No Trace. We hitched a ride up to the Wuksachi Lodge for breakfast which was awesome! This area was affected by the KNP complex fire just after our visit, and we hope to visit again soon to see how the area may have changed. NO CELL SERVICE... highly recommend a Satellite transceiver. Great campground. We had a nice site overlooking the river. It was quite an experience. Going back for sure!!

Beautiful area. Great campground all around. However, it was filled with bears, which may have to do with the site closing for months due to COVID. Our nights were restless as we had bears sniffing on our tent and near us all night, despite leaving nothing outside (everything was in the bear box). We heard other sites yell "Go away bear!" in the middle of the night, so it wasn't just us. The rangers told us that the bears are not likely to harm us, which I agree. However, due to limited amount of campers (due to COVID mitigation), we were essentially by ourselves in our area, and it was still unsettling to be surrounded by bears when you're isolated. I was in the 60-70's loop, which was mostly empty, but the other loops (100's and 200's) had a lot more people. I would have felt much better if we were around more people given the bear situation.
