My son and I camped at Lodgepole campground in Sequoia NP. Beautiful campground, excellent star shows and a waterfall near by. Whats not to like? Get outside and reconnect. Good for the soul.We also camped at Azalea in Kings Canyon. Another winner! The high Sierras are not to be missed. Loved the whole experience.

The only bad part was other campers coming to their sites super late at night to set up. Location was good though as it's near the waterfalls. Although, depending on the wind, it could blow the firepit smoke back toward the table and tent area. Overall very nice place.

We stayed at campsite 124 in mid-June. 124 is a GREAT site where you are right on the waterfall and the white noise of the water drowns out the noise of other campers. It's the perfect distance to the restroom (not too close to where you have foot traffic, but close enough to where you don't have to walk far). The restrooms were clean and the bear box for the campsite was more than ample in size. While the first night was temperate, our 2nd night was very cold (high 30's) even in mid-June, so be prepared for cold nights!

Chose our campsite based on large tent pad size and it worked out great. Nearest bathroom unit was always clean and had a dish washing sink on the side of the building. Dumpster and recycling bin was a short distance across the road from our campsite. Our site was adjacent to two other sites with four other sites behind us and several more across the road. The proximity was fine for the first half of our stay but once a large group set up behind us the tranquility ended. (Campers behind our site had to use the trail next to us to reach their cars and the bathrooms so there was a lot of foot traffic at times.) Our campsite was also downhill from a water spigot so when kids messed around with it the water drained to our picnic table. Good neighbors will play a larger role in your Lodgepole experience than having the perfect campsite.Lodgepoles location is excellent for activities in the Giant Forest and the shuttle bus is convenient. From Lodgepole allot an hour to drive to the Grant Grove area and two hours to reach Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon. There wasnt much traffic on the weekday mornings we drove to both areas but we did spend time behind several large vehicles and a few nervous drivers. Most drivers were good about using the turnouts but a few remained oblivious for many miles. Use the slow downs to take in the amazing scenery. If your plans include more hikes/activities in the north of Sequoia I would consider a different campsite as many of the trailheads we drove to were 20-25 miles from Lodgepole.
