The campsites are well-maintained, though the fire ring was full of ashes, so youd need to clean it yourself if you want to use it. The bathrooms could have used daily cleaning, but that didnt happen. Traffic directions arent clearly marked, and I saw trailers and cars backing up or trying to squeeze past each other. The campsite is a starting point for multiple trails and is within walking distance to the visitor center and the bus stop, which takes you to other attractions around the park. Theres free public Wi-Fi at the visitor center, but theres zero cell signal elsewhere.

The trees were beautiful, the campground was more like a trailer park.

Great five day visit. Verizon coverage was much better than expected (Winegard 360+ antenna on roof). Even managed to get decent satellite coverage. Numerous hiking trails to enjoy. Touring Crystal Cave was definitely worthwhile, even if it is a bit of a drive and a hike to visit (do reserve in advance after reading about the hike to and from the cave opening). Visit the General Sherman tree early. Numerous hikes available in close proximity, many of which were very lightly used.

Beautiful location, many flat spots for an RV and a fabulous place for tents. The only drawback is the cleanliness of the restrooms. Fabulous place to hike from. Friendly staff.

Great campsites, don't forget you leveling blocks. There are clean showers and laundromat at Kings Canyon close to the lodge. Bathrooms in Lodgepole may need more attention but it is a very busy campgrounds.

The campground is tightly packed, but the numerous trees help to break up the campsites. There are lots of waste bins, bathrooms, and a large stream running right through the campground. The trailhead for Tokopah Falls was about 200' from our site. Overall, excellent campground and one of my favorite "very developed" campgrounds in the NP system. Our site was a fairly level pullout (about 6" lower on one end than the other), next to two bear boxes, and a water hydrant.
