Great park! I have visited many times in my life, This was a very comfortable relaxing vacation. Can't wait to visit again. Stayed at Lodgepole 3 nights (Trail of Giants is a must ) and Sentinel camp at the bottom of Kings Canyon 2 nights. Glacier cut canyons and Kings river perfect for a chill afternoon in the hammock.

We had a great time at Lodgepole! A last minute cancellation the week before allowed us to stay at campsite #81. This site has full shade, its close to the restrooms, close to the water spigot and there are extra unassigned parking spots in front if you have more than one car. However, it is surrounded by several other campsites, but that was not an issue. It still feels private and has plenty of space. Also, there was no light in the bathrooms, so make sure to bring your own. The site has a nice river view and we walked down to the river every day. During our stay, we saw a bear and three deer near the campsite. Two deer walked through it and the bear was at the river. It was exciting to see them! They didnt care that we were there and we never felt unsafe. Another thing is that there is no cell service with T-Mobile. Only Verizon phones seem to get calls and texts. During our stay, we did the Sherman Tree Trail, Crescent Meadows Trail where we saw Tharps log and chimney tree and we stopped to see the auto log, the Parker Group Sequoias and the tunnel log. I definitely recommend all of those stops. Next time Id like to hike more trails like Giant Forest, Big Trees and Moro Rock. Theres plenty to see. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend staying at Lodgepole!

Our site (81) had the best location. Close enough to the car and bathroom to be convenient; ample distance from neighbors for privacy, and the best view along the river. The site is pretty shady but does get late afternoon/evening sun at sunset. The bathrooms were clean and had soap. The store had plenty of essentials and nonessentials but the showers/laundry had not yet reopened for the season.

Had a great experience, but was frustrated that other campers make reservations, and then, never show up! There were other sites I would have preferred, but they were reserved for the no-shows, unfortunately.

Lodgepole was clean and had beautiful sites. The ranger programs each night were great too!
