Stayed in site 039 and had a great experience. The site is a bit hilly, but there is decent space for a tent, and is a short stroll to the bathroom. The kids loved exploring the surrounding hills behind the campsite.

It was a good campground in 32. I was overall disappointed in rangers and market. This was my first time out since COVID-19 hit and disappointed in engagement from park. Let me explain once you pay at the entrance of sequoia we were greeted and was told to pay fee. Once I asked about campsite and activities and when will ranger stop by to let us know more about area, she stated I dont know but can ask when at campsite. Got to the campsite no rangers at toll area. Everyone coming and going so we decided to set up camp. Went to market I was very disappointed about the selection of refrigerated items they had there was nothing of produce, dairy and meats. And this campground is not far from city area. When you have a family to feed and you forget an item its important to just stop by the market and get. Most of pre made items looked stale and for produce the fruit did not look appealing. And to top off when ready to purchase items my daughter was trying to be kind to help cashier and accidentally dropped the yogurt that fell on cashier side and of course she apologized but he was very upset and had rude remark. I then asked about rangers and activities he did not state nothing at all just an annoying state. He was a young man with black short slick hair, the newer employee, older man was more kinder than him the following day. My daughter did not want to get assistance from him so I had to go in to the market with her. On our last nite the ranger stopped by and did not mention any activities or nothing much about campsite. Overall disappointed, when you start making plans at beginning of year then waiting a month in advance to make campsite arrangements. I had higher expectations the rangers athe museums were unenthusiastic when asking for activities and stated I dont know only worked here for a few months. How are going to be a ranger and not know or research your area. Ive been to othercampsite andrangershave always been more helpful.

Camp rangers were attentive and helpful with a situation with our camp site. They were professional and friendly to all. Nice campground on the river in the forest near Sequoia groves. Tokopah Falls is a great hike directly from the campground. The shuttles were running and took us to Wolverton picnic area with many trailheads. My husband did the strenuous Lakes Trail and said it was amazing. The shuttle also took us to Giant Museum and the Tall Trees Trail as well as to the General Sherman area with its network of hiking through sequoia tree groves. Beautiful area to visit!
