Site 141: Great site. Not too close to other camp sites so can be somewhat private. Tent pad was not too far from parking space. Picnic table and bear locker were clean. Bear locker was big enough to hold our medium size cooler, a file box and a large flat plastic container with space left over. The only problem we had were the yellowjackets and the mosquitos. Restroom in this area are flush toilets and were clean and well stocked.

A great site in terms of space and set up but there were a few issues. Lots of space and can fit a large tent comfortably. Downsides: there was an issue with yellowjackets!! It was horrible trying to prep and eat. If we'd known and had prepared for it, it would have helped with the experience. The grill is also broken at this site! Had to maneuver and perch the grill with a few rocks to have it be stable and cook with it. This campground has access to some great hikes and has a river running through it but the sites are spaced near each other and there are people all around. Quiet and polite though during my stay but because you see people doing their thing around you, it takes away with the whole one with nature kind of vibe. Bathrooms are fine, not dirty, but old. There was no lights avail at night, or at least that was the case for the one closest to this site. Headlamps FTW!

Very beautiful, remote campsite. Lots of bear activity, be careful.

We stayed at Upper Lodgepole (site 141) in late August 2019 and had a wonderful time. The campsite we were in was great. Plenty of room, not too close to neighboring campsites and close to the river. We took a hike up to the falls it was not strenuous and early in the morning we saw almost no one. We did see two bears right off the trail and up close. Both were eating berries and were less than 20 feet away. We stayed clear of their space and they ignored us. We got great pictures and video. Also at the river in the campsite we saw 6 deer eating bushes. They too were really close and we watched them for over an hour. Some campsites were rocky and not so great, but ours was nice. We also enjoyed the hike up to Moro Rock and down to the redwood trees.
