Spot is the best in the entire campsite for a big trailer. Ours was 33 feet and backed it in. Fantastic view of the river from the top to the bottom. You're right on the water and there are little streams for the kids to play in. The bad is people who are camping in the middle on the campground who don't have camping etiquette think they can walk right through your site. Even with a dog in the site they risked getting bitten instead of walking around. So plan to block the path from the road to the river at this site. we used our bikes and it fixed the problem. The problem path will be on your slides side.

OMG! Site #158 is gorgeous! Everything was so beautiful until you need to see the restrooms. There was no clean restrooms at all or anywhere. But if I could, I camp again. Yeah, it was that beautiful. Oh, make sure you are ready to camp in cold temperature. Check the temperature! Rangers were so helpful, kind and full of joy.

This is a pretty good site. Large space close to the river and next to a water spigot. Good for a large tent or moderate trailer. Only a couple of trees off to the right. The bear box is unshaded and gets hot during the day.
The worst part if this loop is the number the restrooms given the number of people that can be in the loop. In a normal season the tp can run out and it can get messy.

Nice campsite with nice flat tent spot next to the river. We spotted a bear playing in the river after dark which was fun to see. No water except across the river/bridge so we used porta potties which is fine! Bear box was completely in the sun during the day so it got very hot.

Were staying at site #158, it was good even though it was raining and had plenty of space, easy to access to the river however there was no shade at all, restroom was little far away from our site and was not clean.

Absolutely no cell service so have all the details you need from Recreation.gov with you. Even the Rangers didnt have wifi access. We had to go use the pay phone at the store to call the toll free number to try and add an extra night to our reservation. Bears are very active at night put everything with a scent away at night! Dont set off your car alarm to scare the bears away! We got very little sleep one night because car alarms were going off every 20-30 minutes ALL night! The campground is a great location in the park and the free shuttle leaves from the parking lot.

Many empty spaces on 2 days before Labor Day weekend, missed ranger since station isn't manned. Felt like honor system to check in, which is nice. Bear boxes were great. Creek was fun to rock hop across. Restroom clean.

Our first time at Sequoia National Park was so amazing. The beauty of this place is just indescribable. This campground is great and kid friendly. My 6 year old, 4 year old and 11 month old had a great time. We camped at site 36, it was a good site, but at about 5 minutes walk from the restroom. My parents camped site was 158, the place was just perfect and had a beautiful view. I suggest you get a camp site around there, though 35 was good too. Thank you camp lodgepole! We had an amazing camping trip.

The Lodgepole Campground is the best place to live unforgettable moments with your family. Additionally to that, taking a free bus gets you quickly to the Giant Forrest, such a breathtaking place.

What a beautiful campsite. We had site #158. There was no shade but you could walk down to the river. We pitched our camping chairs there and just sat by the river. The site had plenty of room for 2 tents. The river had so much water and it was so peaceful. Definitely will be coming back.

Beautiful campground with trails nearby. Our trip was cut short due to fire precaution, the plus side was it was a very secluded camping experience. We will definatley return.

What an amazing place! We just wished that people who are visiting show more respect to the closed off areas and stay on the marked paths in order to make sure these giants and their beautiful surrounding will be unharmed and can be enjoyed by many generations to come.
