Excellent campsite. Lots of animal visitors right up to our tent. Bathroom facilities couldve been cleaned more frequently (womens was ok, mens was not good) and trash pickup for often would be great if possible. The bear bins filled up after a few days and unscrupulous campers were leaving their trash bags on top of the bin

A very beautiful campsite. The park rangers and campers were all especially friendly.

Such a gorgeous place and so quiet! The ranger at Lodgepole check-in was so friendly and helpful, just what I needed after a 7 hour drive. One lesson: before you enter that park be sure to GET GAS! I didn't realize those twisty curves would eat so much fuel and was nearly on empty when I arrived. The kindly ranger told me about Stony Creek, which thankfully was only 14 miles away (and mostly downhill) where I could fill up.

We camped in upper loop where it was mostly tent campers. Some of the sites are up a hill, so be aware of that when you choose a site. The site map is accurate when it shows sites away from the road. The sites are quite close together and you can hear your neighbors' conversations very clearly. Quiet hours begin at 10 pm but since sites are so close, it can be noisy if you like to retire early. I would stay in this loop again. Flush toilets, clean sinks. Keep all food and scented items in bear boxes. Lots of bears around. One crossed right in front of us on the trail near campground. We used bear boxes even at trailheads. Good hikes everywhere. Magnificent sequoias. Bring all your own food; stores are limited during Covid. We brought our own water too because of the drought. First two loops in the campground are very exposed.
