Lodgepole campground was great. The property is well maintained. We stayed on campsite #85, a secluded site, a big pad, water right next to the camp, and a restroom only a few steps. The only draw back was that due to the proximity to the restroom sometimes when the wind hit in our direction the smell was really bad. Also, during the time that we were there we had heavy bear activity (bear in our camp) we also had deer and marmot.

One of the best campgrounds I have visited. Right next to the river, lots of trees and shade, and we even spotted some deer! Highly recommend.

This campground was great! It's located close and in the middle of everything that you would like to drive and see, plus the individual sites feel 'private' and are always in walking distance from a clean restroom. It was great to have a market located at the entrance, so you can buy anything that you need and it was helpful that there are large lockers located on each campsite so you can store your items to keep them safe from bears. But the best thing about this campground is the river running right through it. If you have some downtime, it's a great swimming hole or just a beautiful place to read a good book.

The Park is great, well maintained, and well worth visiting. However, the campground is very dangerous for kids and anyone on foot. disrespectful campers are doing 40 mph though campgrounds past kids on bikes and other pedestrians. What makes it worse is park rangers and staff see this and say nothing to them. I saw multiple people doing double the speed limit. The same guy in the red audi speeding through the campground over and over, with park staff in green witness it, and not say a word. But i had a cooler left out that was 50 feet from and got a long lecture. How about the staff concern themselves with kids not getting hit by drunk speeders. FYI, my cooler was locked and bear rated, but not in a locker. I am very enviromentally conscience, and in no realistic way put any bears at risk of eating my food and puting their life in jeopardy. Kids love to ride bikes while camping, its part of the experience, but I had to lock up their bikes to keep them safe because park staff refuses to enforce laws that matter. Its December now, I was there in July, and I'm still upset. I didnt' feel safe sleeping in my campsite becuase it was very close to the road. The park staff needs to get their priorities straight. I'm all for bear safety and keeping food away from them. its a great rule. but I lost all confidence in the staff when the put bear safety over that of children. Multiple occasions i stood in the middle of the road when i say someone speeding towards my family and had to exchange words. There is no public safety officer onsite looking out for park visitors, they only care about the bears. If you are planning on camping here, be very careful about what site you select, stay a LONG ways off the main access road through the campgrounds. And dont bring two coolers, there is no room for them to store on site and of course leaving it in your car is dangerous.
