We stayed at #135 upper loop and the creek or stream is right behind this site which is nice. #135 has good enough privacy and pretty good size site compared to some of the other site that would fit only a 4 person tent and zero privacy. The bad part of the campground is that the restroom was disgusting. There was no cleaning service at all the 3 days we were there. Men's shower facility has 3 out of 5 stalls working and people are lined up around 5PM dinner prep time because they close everything at 7PM.The first night we camped there, there was a couple cars driving for about 15 minutes in the wrong way in upper loop late evening. Then around 10PM a newer model Ford Bronco showed up setting up camp at the site(#134) next to us and started cooking food and gather around the campfire they just started at 11PM. The 3 of them were speaking some foreign European language not as loud but chatting all the way till 2 or 3AM. Next morning, they broke down their tent really early and left right after 7AM. It was almost like they wanted to leave quick before they were noticed. Then right after they left, around 8:30AM this group of 4 men started setting up tents at the same site #134. It was almost like they coordinated the timing. The new group told us that they transferred from another site because the one they reserved would not fit 2 tents. It was so strange what was going on at this campground. I have never seen anything like it. Also, people are very active at night all over the campground unlike other campground we stayed at.Lastly, there was no shuttle starting September 2 for the winter due to labor dispute.

Lodgepole was the most beautiful campground I've ever stayed at. There was tons of shade, beautiful views, lots of friendly folks around, and saw the rangers around quite a bit. Saw some bears, but they kept to their space and we kept to ours. No issues at all!
