This campsite is a gem! We had a spot along the river during summer and it was absolutely wonderful to do a drip and also fall asleep to the sounds of a calm river. I highly recommend The Lakes hike for those that have a full day. It's a must to jump in each lake and was the most wonderful thing I did all summer.

Excellent campsite, right next to the stream! Nice shade during the day if staying in the camp! Other than the and 500 yard walk to the campsite to load and unload all the equipment, the only other issue was the bathroom was a bit inaccessible especially during the night.

We loved this campground! It was close to the lake and the shuttles. The restrooms were also close by and theres a store there as well. We loved that the shuttles were free and they literally took you everywhere that you needed to see close by to your campground. This was one of the best campgrounds Ive stayed. Our friends and us want to come back.

The rangers were extremely helpful in getting our group of 9 situated in an appropriate campsite that happened to be right next to the river/stream. When we were in the back country at Emerald/Pear Lakes, the Back Country Ranger was extremely helpful in getting our tent sites situated. Some of my group was new to backpacking and were very impressed with the ranger. One young lady who is 16yrs. and looking to be a biology major in college became very interested in becoming a NPS Ranger after talking to her. Over the past 30 yrs. I've been bringing groups up to Sequoia/KIngs Canyon with very positive experiences. Thank you for all you do to make the parks a positive experience for all.

i gave it 2 stars because the first night we had a walk to campsite and that was just ok. the 2nd night we had a normal campsite and it was horrible. if you plan on going to bed early dont stay at this campground. walk to campsite was pretty and right next to the river, which we later discovered everyone bathes in the river since they closed the showers and there was a nasty busted open diaper laying right next to the water. it sounded like they were having movie night in the distance until just after 10 and the guy in the campsite next to us was snoring so crazy i thought it was the 400 pound bear. but it was prettier than the next campsite. the next day we switched campsites and and it was so close to everyone and so loud. i thought these sites were 6 people max but the group next to us had like 15 drunk people making tons of noise and they had a fire even with the ban and no one came to enforce the rules. there is also no signal in this whole place so good luck reporting anything after dark. this is the most crowded campground i have ever been to and there is trash everywhere. sequoia national park really needs a permit system to limit entry. im glad i saw it but will never be back.

We were there for two nights and I have to tell you I was beyond pleased. The first night we attended the first ranger program since vid began and I have to tell you not only was it informative but I was blown away from the knowledge and presentation. The rangers are first class. The second night was more entertaining but just as informative. Thank you for all the service!!

Lodgepole Campgrounds has lot of hiking trails nearby. Or you can conveniently go to other sites by free shuttle bus which runs quite regularly. However, Public showers were closed and we were not informed beforehand.
