Amazing campground, location and experience! We saw deer, chipmunks, squirrels, a variety of birds, and plenty of signs of bears! The amphitheater was awesome and the ranger programs were incredibly helpful and fun. We loved the marketplace and the convenience of how close everything was that we wanted to do (General Sherman, Museum, hiking trails, meadows, etc.). One of the best camping trips we have had in a long time! Thank you!

This is one of the best campsites ever!! 124, 125 and 128 both have clear views of the waterfall. 128 is a bit more private, but you have a few stairs to contend with. Not many, and Ill probably opt for 128 next time. A few people walk by along the river to play in the falls. Didnt bother me at all. I highly recommend these walk-in sites at the end of Lodgepole. I was there during peak season mid-July, and it was quiet and peaceful. I would not recommend these walk-in sites to anyone with children under 5, however. Too many cliffs and boulder fields, plus the stairs if youre in 128. I snatched one toddler from another campsite running hellbent towards the drop off to the river through my site. Another 4-year old fell down the stairs from 128. Restrooms were clean and convenient with a dish washing sink.

Definitely a gem site! Even though you need to walk few meters from the shared parking area, it didnt bother us that much. Glad we got the wheeled cooler and wagon, which makes fewer trips between the car and our site. The little creek and fall is just in front of us and they become natural white noise during the night, which is wonderful! The site is not big, but enough privacy.

A beautiful and thriving wilderness amongst the campgrounds. Each space has a fair distance from neighbors. Bathrooms flush and the market is nearby and easily accessible.

Disappointing the whole campground is reserved, but when you arrive, its 75% full.

This campsite is such a beautiful site. Something to consider is this site is a walk-in campsite which means you'll need to physically walk to, and carry your gear to your site. It wasn't too far from our parking space but we did have to carry everything making it a little inconvenient with little kids. Bringing a wagon cart will come handy, trust me! There was plenty of shade and wonderful view. We really enjoyed listening to the soothing sound of the water. From our site we were able to see a small waterfall and we even had the chance to swim there. We were able to experience seeing a bear too! Also, being close to a convenient store can be very helpful when you forget things. The shuttle bus for those who don't want to deal with parking or driving around is found here too! The only downside of this campsite is the bathrooms. They were not well maintained. This is the only reason why we don't give it a 5 star. Overall, we truly loved it!

Site 125 is a pretty decent spot; I'd say it's better than sites 124 and 123 for sure. It's back in the furthest corner of the park which allows for some decent privacy but since it's up against the river and there's a mini-falls right behind site 128 you do get a lot of people walking near or through your campsite during the day. Most people seemed to walk through site 124 vs our campsite but it still seemed pretty rude that people would just take their loud 5+ person parade straight through the middle of a clearly used campsite.Site 128 is elevated against all the other campsites in this cluster; there are stairs but you can also just walk up the hill to the side of those steps. Unfortunately the people in this site while we were there had the world's brightest lantern and since they were elevated they were illuminating all the other campsites until they determined it was time for lights out at like 10pm each night. We also had several people walk up to us confused looking for the Tokopah falls trail. The trailhead is way closer to the lodgepole entrance but I think people saw the mini-falls and stairs at 128 and thought it was a trail.Pros: lots of fallen wood to collect, very shaded, right next to a good spot in the river to scramble across, Quiet traffic access, still able to light campfires. The neighbors in 126 were very nice and considerate.Cons: all the inconsiderate other campers mentioned above, mosquitoes were very persistent in the mornings and evenings mid june. Got pretty cold one night we were there, into the 30s!I'd probably try for site 126 next time!

Our family had a fantastic first-time experience at Lodgepole Campground! Fire restrictions took nothing away from a wonderful family time of hiking, swimming, and spending quality phone-free time together. Once we got used to it, the freedom from our phones was wonderful!! (If phone access is needed, it can easily be obtained with a 5-10 min drive up the road.)

The campground market was also a great help for any forgotten or needed supplies.

Note: Please fellow campers, don’t try to sneak in a campfire if not allowed...one uncontrolled spark can ruin this natural treasure. The beautiful trees and animals you see will make the risk not worth it. Please follow the rules.

Thank you staff for this fantastic campground! You were a great help and so nice when asked about hiking trails. Our 3 boys are already asking to return :)

Awesome! The handful of sites at the far east end of the campground are great and all right near the river.
