Beautiful our site was right on the creek. Beautiful days cold nights. You are not allowed to discharge bear spray FYI we didn't know until the ranger talk. It's so magnificent there. I saw that the payphones at the LODGEPOLE STORE ARE FREE TO CALL OUT ON.

So happy to be back after the pandemic! We try to come every year with the whole family. Unfortunately things were a little off this year. The cafe was shut down, the showers were out of order for the season and catching a ranger at the check in was rare. Hope you guys work it out for next season.

Stayed in a “walk to” tent site along the river. The trees here are all gone so it’s very exposed to the sun. These spots are very close together and it’s just kind of an open area free for all with several other groups. Being right next to the river provides a great background noise for sleeping and drowned out the nearby neighbors.

Lodgepole is a great campground with over 100 campsites and close to major attractions in Sequoia. We stayed at Camp #052, big enough for 5 people to camp, cozy, right next to the campsite is a creek, water tap and big trees. The campground has a trail to the Tokopah Falls. We visited during summer, it was great. Fresh water flowing through the creeks around the campground.

The staff and accommodations were very good but unfortunately a lot of the facilities are still shutdown due to lack of available workers.

Sound of running water everywhere. Clean site and quiet neighbors. Restrooms were clean. Close to a lot of great hiking areas.

The conditions of the LodgePole Campground are not good. I do not think it is the ranger's fault. The Post Office, the General Store and the Visitors' Center are closed; the exterior of these buildings is deteriorating. The long wood boards that cover the concrete walls, where people usually sit, are breaking down. To say they need a paint job would be a joke. I don't know what can be done but I have been going to the Sequoia campgrounds for years and it is ashame the infastructure is breaking down.
