Good to see reservations were being checked by rangers even during the govt shutdown

Great for first time campers because its one of the busier / more crowded campgrounds and its close to grant grove village market. Convenient if you forgot to bring something you can buy at the nearby market. Clean bathrooms. Functioning water sinks and flush toilets. Some sounds from the nearby highway at night. Peaceful and very close to General Grant Tree and short drive up to Panorama Point. Site 97 is right next to the restrooms so you have quick access but people walking back and forth at night

Beautiful and quiet campground. Very clean restrooms. If you have an rv be sure to bring lots of blocks. The sites on the outside of the loop slope down and the sites on the inside of the loop slope up. Took lots of blocks to get our 30' trailer level.

We had campsites 97 and 101 for my parents, my kids, my husband, and myself. There was a big bush/shrub that separated the campsites. Im not saying it should be removed, but that was the only downside of our reservation. The spots were otherwise great! Being that close to the bathrooms was not ever an issue (wasnt too noisy or smelly). We walked to the visitor center a couple times and the General Grant tree once (wouldnt have done it with my 5-year-old if I knew it was that length of a hike). It was a nice walk/hike to the General Grant tree but too much for a little kid. Hume Lake is 20mins from the campground. Boyden Cave was about 40-45mins away, I think. Loved it!

Driving in and finding our camp site was easy and accessible! When we arrived we set up camp, we had clean potable water, ash disposal, trash and restrooms near by which was convenient. At our campsite 97 however, we had a huge yellow jacket issue our entire stay. All of our meals had meat which they are attracted too so by half through our trip we were eating in the car. That was a bit of a bummer but for our first time camping in area, that was the worst it got. Bear boxes were good ours was place in direct sunlight so our 100q cooler couldn't stand a chance. We had to buy ice again while we were up there. Our camp site was clean and the previous campers left us more than enough wood so we didn't need to buy any. The other perk we found was the Grant Grove market within walking distance to the camp ground. Anytime we need something or simply wanted to skip a meal and grab a burger there, it was available. I look forward to camping here again in the future. Definitely bringing a bug net canopy next time.

The cold water at the restrooms was as good as hoped for.
