Overall my stay was very good. I was in campsite 8; which was fully shaded and had a great view of the lake. The accommodations were in good condition. Steve, the campsite manager, did a great job. He answered all questions and made several daily trips throughout the campsite to check on campers and if you had any needs. The only down side was the dump station. It is located on top of a hill with a very steep incline. The station looked as if it had not been used. Other campers as well as myself did not use it either. The turn down the hill from the dump station is very tight and difficult. I have a 34 foot trailer and I would not have been able to make it safely by myself nor with additional help. With this being said, I would still recommend this campsite for a great camping trip. Respectfully, David Ashley.

This is not the place for senior citizens. I had to climb steps to get to my campsite as well as drive my car up a steep hill to use the restroom. I have since decided to rent a handicapped campsite, despite not actually needing one, to make sure this doesn't happen again. I found this stay disappointing.

In the hot summer there is very little shade on sites 2,3 and 4 but it is still a beautiful campground.

Love the aera, easy boat ramp access and the workers there were extremely nice but campsite had no shade.

The grounds were well kept and bathhouse was well kept and clean. My only complaint it the lack of trees along the lower campsites. I like to sleep in a hammock and had nowhere to tie up my hammock. Not much can be done to change that in the short term though.

The view was good, but there was no where to hike or fish unless you have a boat. Bathroom was clean and there was also a laundry unit for anyone who wanted to use it.

Smaller campground (only about 2 dozen spots), but can't beat the location as it's right on the water. They could definitely put a little money into it and spruce up the bath/shower house. They are dated and a bit rundown. I would and still come back.

Nice quiet little Campground...But the Dump Station is Horrible! It's up on top of a Hill with the Bath house and you can only go into the Dump Station when you are entering the Campground! So that means when you depart and want to dump...You have to exit the Campground to a turn around spot and come back in to dump! And then when your at the Dump Station your Camper or Coach is going down hill while dumping.. So there is no way your getting your tanks emptied when everything runs to the front!

Very steep inclines, sign upon entering, road ends in water, ignore, & NO sign pointing out you need to go up hill to right at the Y. Nobody manning gate, & was not aware of a packet host told me days later was there. Do not go on back on left road if you have 40'+ RV - we did & took 45 mins to get turned around & out.

Our site was very steep to back into but once settled in we had a wonderful view of the water. It was peaceful. The dump station is in an very inconvenient location in the campground and on a slant, not sure how anyone could fully empty their tank. But I'm sure folks have been doing it for years.

Beautiful quiet spots. Stayed in spot 7. Had a great view of the lake. It was tight in a few places with a 38ft TT. Very nice boat ramp with paid parking.

We drove 1,000 miles from our home in Florida and arrived at our site #8 on June 26 2024The electric box was duct taped and inoperable Temperatures were in the nineties According to a sign on the office door The camp host and the assistant were BOTH off on Wednesdays so we had no one to straighten the situation out so we had to scramble for alternate accommodations I hope they got the electric fixed for the next campers as the 4th of July holiday was fast approaching

Clean restrooms and shower facilities. Campsite #20 is right across from the restroom, so it does lack that privacy. Overall the campground seemed to be very quiet and I enjoyed my stay!

Loved the view of the lake....but needs improvement. Washer and dryer was out of service during our week long stay and the bath house was not heated nor does the the handicap shower have hand held. We saw several homeless that linger (overnight) at the entrance and we had an older male beg for money. Even though we used a water filter, the potable water had a yellow/brown tint which was concerning.

There is a road sign on the way down the steep curvy road approaching this campground that reads "road ends in water" which made us laugh! Anyway, this Dept of Civil Engineers small campground is on beautiful Lake Cumberland. Almost every site has a view of the lake but I agree with others who have commented that it is not for large campers. The best sites are 1-4 as they are pretty easy to back into and have a 1st rate view of the lake. Whatever you do, do not book #17, it is practically impossible to back into. The gravel site is built into the hillside so when we were backing in, our camper was so tilted that it looked like it was going to tip over, scariest camper situation we have been in so far. Also, the upwards pitch to get up in here made the hitch and trailer foot stand bury into the gravel. At one point the back corner of the trailer was pushing into the gravel. The attendant told us that a camper had gone in the ditch last week (ditch is about a foot deep) and it cost him $3,500 to get it out. That doesn't include the damage done. Also, at this time of year (fall) the black walnuts are falling and they are fist sized hard balls that feel like they could damage your camper or tow vehicle. Another draw back for this particular site (17).We stayed here for 3 nights and did enjoy the peace and quiet and beauty while we were here.We drove to a campground 30 minutes away to dump because "the dump station here wasn't planned out with campers in mind. It's on top of a steep hill, with a very sharp approach that will scrap your tongue or trailer to turn left from our side of the campground. If you try from the other side your dump valves are on the wrong side and elevated, so you won't get a complete dump." Also, this is where the bathrooms are which is a very steep walk up the hill to get there. We noticed a lot of campers driving to the bathroom because of this. The bathrooms are not heated so at this time of year very chilly to shower.

Great views from all campsites of the Cumberland River. Restroom and shower facilities were very clean and well maintained. Ranger did an excellent job of making sure the area was secure. Only negative is that the camp site are too close together for my taste.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
