Site #15. Electric and water are 75 - 80 ft. from the back of the site, if you back in. Mud/dirt is located where asphalt meets gravel. There is a gravel pile 200 ft. up the camp road - why it's not being utilized is beyond me. Due recent flooding, driftwood and trash were everywhere. Towing a 40 ft. 5th wheel - to get to dump station you have to turn left, at the hosts' guard shack (heading back into Eureka). When done, the turn is too sharp to make the U-turn to exit the area. Now (after dumping) you have to either drive thru the campground again or turn around in the parking area at the bottom of the hill to the right of the campground entrance. Those were the cons. I know, due to budget cuts in Army Corps of Engineers (C.O.E.), money isn't there to readily pay for needed maintenance as soon as the need arises. I assume it will get better in a few years to where we can get back to the "good ole days" of well-maintained campgrounds. All of that being said - Eureka is a small, quaint, and gorgeous campground. The views of the lake are perfect. The bath/shower house is nice. Wildlife is everywhere - not in a bad way. The hosts were very friendly - as well as all campers we talked to. It's also a short drive to Patti's or many other places - if the need for supplies arises. Yes, there are some dead fish in the water and on the banks - and yes it does kinda smell, at times - but that's the way it's always been. Lake Barkley and Kentucky lake are lakes that get fished out of - and when a dam is involved, some fish are going to die - and dead fish end up in the water and on the banks. I'm 61 years old and have been swimming (and fishing) in the twin lakes all my life. The reservation process was pretty straight forward and the info, on each site, was fairly accurate. The nightly rates are not too bad. All-in-all it was a nice campground and we look forward to coming back when we can.

This park is amazing. Beautiful views. Easy pull through sites. Areas to enjoy a campfire and picnicking! Unfortunately, it was raining the entire time we visited, but we will be back to enjoy it during a nicer weather time! We highly recommend visiting!

Please stay open next year until October 31, 2023! The wonderful campground hosts are helpful and efficient. The demand for potential October 2023 reservations at Eureka from the public is a popular topic from campers during the last few years who visit this beautiful campground.

15 is good level spot. A large site. Great water view. Shade but with Good antenna/satellite reception. Right across the road from the bathhouse. Pull thru site for easy parking. Your shoes will get dusty, or muddy depending on rain or not due to the need for gravel in the site.

The site was really big. Almost to big because your camper is so far away from the table. We absolutely did not like the fact that it is in need of a lot of gravel. Thankfully it did not rain during our trip or it would have been mud. The first part of the site is dirt where the gravel is gone so be prepared to walk thru powdery dirt each time you go back in the camper. They have gravel on site, why they don’t put it in the sites is beyond me. Another camper told us they actually pull their camper in sideways to try to stay out of the dirt. Quit being lazy and making the campers figure out how to avoid the dirt, do your job and replace the gravel.
